P3Dv4 Issues

Post by HankyPanky »

Gents and Lads, after re-installing my P3Dv4 and Matrix and adding the lines

[Main]
ContentErrorReporting=1

the log file came up with lots of errors regarding missing effect files (apron_flood_v2, fx_light4B666A), as well as script errors in animation scripts (missing parenthese, character or space missing).

Can someone please cross check this? It's well known that P3D is somewhat sensitive regarding errors :wink: . The log file can be found under ..\documents\P3D v4 files as contenterrors.txt

Thanks a lot in advance
Dieter

Addition: apron_flood_v2 belongs to MAIW KNHK_ADEP4_HU_OBJ, and fx_light4B666A to MAIW YWLM_LOZ_lights_P3D.

Script errors are to much to list in detail.

I'll have a look at the missing effects, but unfortunately there's nothing I can do about the script errors since the animation scripts are built into the models...

Hi Dieter,

interesting aspect you found. Maybe that is the reason it takes ages for P3D to boot for me.

I'm also looking forward to any results regarding this findings.

Cheers,

Martin

Martin, that's one of the main reasons for my new install... The previous setup (both 4.4 and 4.5) took up to 20 min to load. Well, it was extremely full with OrbX, UT, FS Global, MAIW Matrix, own AI traffic, hundreds of sceneries etc.

Any kind of error will always take more time then an error free setup, so my approach now is to install step by step and before continuing try to fix everything that P3D is mentioning as not correct.

Good to hear I'm not the only one here.
