Hello

Thanks. But I've already look at this library and there is no shelter of this type.

I'm looking for a Clam Shell Shelter, like the one use by French at Niamey, or by US for their UAV in Iraq etc...

As popular as the clam shell hanger has become in the US military, especially overseas and downrange, I am surprised no one has modeled it yet.

I made a number of them for my RAF Marham scenery with a choice of door configurations:

I can change the colour to sand if that would help. I can also make the model bigger to match the one in the photograph if you could tell me the dimensions (don't know if you could find one in Google Earth and use the ruler tool). I also have both FS9 and FSX models - which one is required please? If several are required close by in one scene it's more frame rate efficient to make one combined model for the whole lot and just use 1 draw call.

Tell me what's needed and I'll make the changes.

It's exactly what I'm looking for.

Thanks a lot John.

I'm seeking a FS9 model, in different configurations (Both sides closed, one side opened, two sides opened) and in sand color, like the ones used by USAF in Iraq an Afghanistan
For the size, their would be capable to receive a jet fighter (F-16, F-15)(a little bit longer than the ones in you RAF scenery perhaps) or a UAV (Reaper)
I can resized them with ADE9, so no problem.

Thanks a lot

Leave that with me then and I'll have them done by this time tomorrow probably. Could you PM me your e-mail address please so that I can get the files to you. I'll post a screen shot here too in case anyone else wants the models.

John;

I'd def like them, too. Proper hangar for my Djibouti Reapers V2.
There is a good Google overhead shot of them at HDCH.

I found quite a few examples at Bagram in Google Earth. They are all about 20 metres (66ft) wide and seem to be used in 3 different lengths. The height seems to be the same for each because the shadows doesn't vary.

So, I have made one model of each length x 3 door configurations: closed/open, open/open and closed/closed. An F-15 will fit in fine:

I didn't include a Gmax floor to each hangar because that would flicker, but you could add one with the new ground polygon facility in ADE1.6 after the models are placed.

I've sent the zip to the two people who asked me for the models. The file is just a bit too large to upload here and I don't really want to send it to Avsim, but if anyone else wants it, just PM me your e-mail address.

Joe:

Not of that set, but it wouldn't take long to do the conversion. If you could PM me your e-mail address, I'll do that for you.

I've also now done the FSX conversion. If anyone wants the hangars for that sim version, just drop me a PM with an e-mail address and I'll send it.
