ADE conversion from FS9 to FSX

Post by VulcanDriver »

I've made scenery using ADE for FS9 and want to convert it for use with FSX. Is it possible to do it with ADE?

I think you must have FSX declared in ADE options, as FS9.

And then, you can compile directly FSX scenery (like FS9 scenery), without any other converstion. You'll produce directly FS9 or FSX scenery.

Ah right, can you set more than one option in ADE?

I don't have FSX so I can't be certain at 100%.

Or try to install a second ADE. One with FS9, one with FSX. and open the same project in the both.

Having started ADE in FS9 mode, save the FS9 scenery as a "project" (save airport as).

Then restart ADE in FSX mode, you can open the FS9 project (open airport), then compile to your FSX folder.

You do have to have both FS9 & FSX installed for ADE to pick up their respective paths.

And here's the rub, I've not got FSX installed.

In which case link up with somebody that has and get them to compile for FSX. Teamwork appears to be the simplest solution here.

John did do that Steve, but it didn't work when I tried it. However, I believe he has now largely solved the problem.
