X Plane 11

Post by BLACKCAT »

I note that it is full steam ahead with a mass conversion to P3D.

I'm sure the conversion of FS aircraft to X Plane is technically not feasible and there is no user-friendly AI engine in X Plane in any case.

However, X Plane is crying out for decent scenery objects and none the moreso than in the military department.

Is there any way the MAIW Scenery Libraries can be converted to X Plane?

I was just wondering the same thing. The air bases are quite bare in X-Plane. I love XP11, but I really miss all my airbases.

I am also interested in doing this for X-Plane. The problem lies with permissions. The MAIW libraries are the work of multiple individuals and I don't want to infringe on any copyrights. Another issue is that some of these sceneries were done quite a while back and it is impossible to contact the developers. If I could find a way around these issues, I would be amenable to give it a try. I have already converted some for my personal use.

I know there is a library of FAIB aircraft converted for X-Plane AI. World Traffic for X-Plane solves my desire to see AI Overhead patterns and formations. Using the WED editor it is also possible to assign runway usage for specific times of the day or on just specific days of the week or under other conditions.
