Military AFCAD Collection Thread

Post by flyboy »

How about a military AFCAD collection thread where we ask for or contribute AFCADs to those who need them.... I am always looking for AFCADs (normally those with local knowledge makes the best ones) and I don't mind sharing what I have done.

Without adequate parking, the AI does not show nor fly..... So all the paints and flightplans are useless.....

I know some are being done for packages, but that still leaves plenty left to do or find.

This will keep them in a central location also.

Rivolto (LIPI), Ghedi (LIPL), Amendola (LIBA), Piacenza (LIMC), Istrana (LIPS)
http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DL ... fs2004afcd

bug fix for Divisione caccia DRAGO: Piacenza (LIMS)
http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DL ... fs2004afcd

2. Divisione caccia AQUILA (six bases)
Grosseto (LIRS), CERVIA (LIPC), GRAZZANISE (LIRM), GIOIA DEL COLLE (LIBV) TRAPANI-BIRGI (LICT), and Decimomannu (LIED)
http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DL ... fs2004afcd

I think you will find that one isn't much more than a helipad and a hut, I'll see if I can find it on Google but suspect that is an area at very low resolution.

I'm afraid it is very much as I suspected, very low resolution. You can take a look for yourselves at:-

Lat N55* 25.23 (55.4231)
Long W1* 36.03 (-1.6009)

If someone can come up with an aerial photo then we could take a crack at it, but I have searched before without result. I think it needs someone who has served there and has some pics or someone local who can get some?

Yes, the only problem with that is it's a 2005 page, the latest update on any Boulmer page appears to be January 2006. It would seem that Boulmer is only remaining open until a new helicopter and base opens for the 'A' flight 202 Sqn. Everything else now appears to have been moved elsewhere.

You can get a better aerial view using www.mapblast.com - but I don't think there's too much there to see!!!

Any up todate RAF, RNAS and other fine UK military establishments would be nice.... RAF Mount Pleasant, Falklands (EGYP) is one I can think off that would be nice... i have one but not too happy with it. Also any scenery for EGYP would be appreciated.

Make a nice long haul deployment location from the UK. I want to work up something like I did for my "Cope Thunder" deployment to Thailand...

Maybe a dumb question but don't they have an afcad section at UKMil? I know we try not to do duplicative work so I have not looked hard at the UK as far as packages/afcads.

Hi Danny,

It may not be obvious but if you follow the forum link from their website and click on the 'UKMil-AI - Previews and announcements' link you will find a sticky section for AFCADS. They have grouped them together according to the scenery that you use.

Hope this helps.
Steve

I found them. I got some what confused over which site is which.

(1) http://www.ukmil.org.uk/

(2) http://www.ukmil.jbai-aircraft.com/

The first site has alot of nice paints and a few models. Seems to be a payware scenery UK2000 that the AFCADs are for. Also seems to be payware (UKMil Club) to download some of the files.

The second site has AFCADs for the default scenery, VFR, UK2000 and waypoints. JBAI is a name I have seen alot and makes some great models also.

Appreciate the info..
