Re: Minot AFB North Dakota

Thanks John, looking good! This is one of a number of sceneries I now have with manual season switching. Anyone else use batch files to toggle them? Pretty simple I know, but otherwise I'd forget to do it. I make a file called winter.bat with a plain text editor containing lines like these... cd C:\...

Re: Looking for a MAIW file

"Covers every C-17 in service with flightplans."

Does this mean that the plans should be in this pack or else already available somewhere?

Cheers, Jim.

If I start at this bookmark... https://militaryaiworks.com/forums.html then more often than not, I can't login, "board has no forums" and uploads are not possible. However, if I start at this random bookmark... https://militaryaiworks.com/forums/topic/20484.html then all is good. (Using Fi...

Re: Waypoints for flight plans

Hi Jorgen,

If you don't have Matrix installed, this might help. Hopefully it's ok to attach here, and I've tinkered with them as can be seen.
I have a lot more randomly collected (or reproduced myself) in my Addon Scenery folder, but am less sure of being allowed to upload them all.

Re: Dans bits & bobs

Cheers Dan, I'll sort something out on my sim.

But, just to be a pain again: The Sea King waypoints IN10,11,12 are re-using P3D stock Indiana airfields' names. I just copied your locations to some I called I010,11,12 and hope that works for me.

Thanks again!

Re: Dans bits & bobs

Thanks for the Indian packages Dan, I appreciate the amount of work that must have gone into them. I have a waypoints query. Some included flight plans use waypoints IND1 - IND9, but I don't see them included. (I do not mean IDN1 - IDN8 which are.) My query though is about the coordinates of IND2 - ...

Brilliant!

I did let out a tiny sigh though, at the thought of all the work just to install them :D

Re: Airport data collection

Hi John,
I find the coordinates in AirportList.dat (open it in a text editor or import it to a spreadsheet).

That file is created from AIFP3 by running Airports --> Find/Collect Airports, and is then found in the AIFP3 program folder.

Re: Changing ICAO code of an airport

New (north-west) & old ZSQD attached. The red circle means I also changed the coordinates to those of the new airport (probably why AI fly there quite happily), and there is still a "runway" on the old one 28km to the south-east, but with deleted runway-starts. I also made the parking ...

Re: Changing ICAO code of an airport

Just to add, 'my' old & new cases were of similar altitude, so didn't change that from stock. You might need to experiment in your case.... I'm guessing though, that if you delete the old EGSY (without adding any modern scenery there) and change the elevation to whatever St Athans is, then it'll...

Re: Changing ICAO code of an airport

Hi John, I solved a similar problem in China, I think? Open the stock EGDX in ADE and delete everything. Save as AFX_EGDX_dummy.bgl or whatever, so it won't appear in flight; just as a point on the map view. (I didn't need this step in China, but it works in lots of cases.) Next... Open EGSY and del...

Re: JYAI UH-1 Huey

Hi John, Since you asked: It's been a while, but I think I have (in my P3dv4.5 setup) the MAIW Minot FS9 scenery with the vegetation & fences converted ok with MCX ...without blacked out backgrounds, if that's what you meant by transparency issues. A good thing about this scenery is that I do NO...

Re: JYAI UH-1 Huey

Sorry to hear John, that is heartbreaking. Hope it helps to be back at the drawing board. Your Huey will certainly lift spirits here. A quick look on Wiki surprised me that there are so many forces still using them, though I didn't look to see which models. Painters may be lining up their brushes al...

Re: A400M stuff

Thanks Steve for the update pack.

The Turkish flightplans seem to have carried over from earlier and don't make sense to me as they are based in Athens :?
Has anyone done an FP based in Kayseri/Erkilet (LTAU)?

Re: MAIW JGAI Saab MFI-17 Supporter Conversion Support

Thanks John, The MOIs gave the same improvement as the CG adjustment, so I went the whole hog and swapped in your Prefect's [WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE] , [contact_points] & [airplane_geometry] sections entirely and that seems to work perfectly even at x2, x4 speeds. Which is handy for an impatient test...
