Re: JYAI HH-60W Jolly Green Giant II
I have made the alternative "Gunner" model - one either side, with an animated left main door: https://i.imgur.com/QjroDOI.jpg https://i.imgur.com/M5eKDvO.jpg Regarding the formation (slime) lights question, I have seen no evidence that the HH-60W has them from the night photos I have foun...

Re: JYAI HH-60W Jolly Green Giant II
Thanks Chris. I have the formation lights painted on the Hstab tips, but they do not light at night. I have only made one model and that's with the doors closed. The current polygon count is around 10,000 mesh triangles and adding gunners, with an open door model of course, would push this to 11700....

Re: JYAI HH-60W Jolly Green Giant II
Thank you for that. I may leave those for users to do themselves. The airfields are joint civil/military and are in basic form in the FSX and P3D default. I don't know if there is any custom scenery available. Both units also operate HC-130s in different forms that ought to be included too, but that...

Re: JYAI HH-60W Jolly Green Giant II
Scramble says that the HH-60W's of 66th RQS at Nellis disbanded - in 2023 if I remember rightly.

JYAI HH-60W Jolly Green Giant II
As, requested, I have produced the HH-60W. It’s based on the MH-60M Blackhawk (SOAR), but I have done some extensive re-modelling to add the new parts and to improve the profiles. This is the result: https://i.imgur.com/6KdmS3t.jpg https://i.imgur.com/96uF3KW.jpg https://i.imgur.com/IW0bZb7.jpg http...

Re: JYAI Airbus AS365 Dauphin
P3D won't know it's a helicopter Chris. What makes it a helicopter is the animated lift in the model. All forward motion is controlled by a conventional FDE, in this case a type 5 turboprop. Is it the case then, that any Fenestron sound you have found is set up as a helicopter and therefore not comp...

Re: JYAI Airbus AS365 Dauphin
I don't think so. I'm working on the HH-60W at the moment and probably the Grey Wolf after that.

Re: Minot AFB North Dakota
They don't need a parking code. The helicopters are programmed to use the helicopter overlay KMI7, while the B-52s are on KMIB. I have never seen a helicopter any where else at Minot and I must have viewed more than 100 times during construction.

JYAI Airbus AS365 Dauphin
The AS365 Dauphin is in response to a request for the UK Air Ambulance version, specifically, The Great North Air Ambulance Service examples, but as you read on, you will see that I have made other variants too. These are the 3 air ambulances: https://i.imgur.com/TdxxdFF.jpg The helicopters will for...

Re: Minot AFB North Dakota
Yes I was fascinated by the detail Chris, but it took a lot of research to find it. Very often I would find something late on that answered a question I was pondering much earlier. I was aware of the two Grey Wolf's at Malmstrom and those plus the new Jolly Greens are nice containable revamps to do ...

Re: Thoughts on the next project
Yep, that all sounds doable, thank you both. If I can find a good 3-view of the new Jolly, I might do it from scratch. The previous models are quite old now. If not I'll do some patching as suggested. The Dauphins are nearly ready, so I can move on to them quite quickly.

Re: Thoughts on the next project
I'm not immediately clear how the new HH-60W differs visually from the older Pave Hawks.

Re: Coming Soon: AI Aero-Spacelines 377SGT Super Guppy
You are doing very well with this. Just check your smoothing groups, particularly on the nose band and the trailing edges of the wings and fin. You may need to change the values for each polygon.

Yes indeed, that's better. How many polygons (mesh triangles) do you have in the primary model?

If you want to have a go at glass and an interior cockpit, I can help.

So is the glass opaque or transparent - does the cockpit have an interior?
