Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

My Embraer airfield (SBGP) uses the same scenery objects for both FSX and P3D, complied with the Gmax FSX native Game Pack. The difference is in the ground splashes for the apron lights. The FSX version uses placed effect files (non-dynamic), while the P3Dv5 version use dynamic light splashes set up...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

I'm now confused Dan. I know you are using the FSX version of SBAN in P3Dv4, but I thought you confirmed that all was fine with the other P3D sceneries. Have I got that wrong and you are using the FSX package throughout in P3Dv4? The effect file you need for SBGP, assuming you are using the P3D pack...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Dan, this is what the ground splashes look like at SBGL in P3Dv5: https://i.imgur.com/tOdz9vF.jpg https://i.imgur.com/mokgs8U.jpg They use the effect file: "fx_spotlightFFE0C032_50_40_75_2_0_0.fx" that is in the zip. For them to show, "Dynamic Lighting" must be switched on in the...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Dan, many thanks for your tests. Could you confirm please that the P3D (v5.4) version of the Embraer airfield (SBGP) is working well in your P3Dv4 please? For Anapolis (SBAN), how is the FSX version displaying the apron light splashes at night and the same for SBGP if you are using the FSX version t...

Re: MAIW_WSMG F-16's

These days, you really only need 3 LODs: LOD_400, LOD-30 and LOD_03 (paper aeroplane) is a good starter. Individuals might get a different result in any case depending on their screen resolution.

I can see it Greg. I can open the input screen and I can navigate from there to where I need to on my PC in order to upload. Would you like me to try a test upload?

Re: Dancing WB-57's

My model was produced 12 years ago and there have been no reports that I can remember of this problem. Just to be sure, I've just tested it in FSX and P3Dv5 and it is stable, both when parked and when moving. This is P3D: https://i.imgur.com/EGgx2rg.jpg As Steve says the instability can be caused wi...

Re: ai aircraft on a carrier

It's the same principle as making multiple helicopter AFCADs overlaid over the main airfield AFCAD. Sometimes it works first time, but more often than not, the AI jumps AFCADs at the red node after landing, disappears after a short while and crashes the sim. At least with helicopter AFCADs, the over...

Number of Users On Line

Just out of interest, when the Forum states that there were 298 users on-line (measured in the last 5 minutes) at 6am this morning and 265 at 7am, does this mean that at least 563 users were probably on line over the hour, given that a single visit isn't likely to last any where near that time perio...

Re: Download section alive again

No pressure, but is it possible to say, roughly, how long it will take before we can upload work again please?

With the first part of the Brazil package being assembled and documented at the moment, we just want to weigh up the options for how we might release it.

I don't think there is a solution to the deck switch unfortunately. Martin gave up trying to do the same thing.

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

As well as testing for Package 1, I have been continuing my work on enabling the beautiful helicopter paints that have been contributed by painters here. It involves creating overlay AFCADs to some of the main airfields. It has not been easy, but I think I have cracked the back of it. Firstly findin...

Re: Blender and FS9

You haven't actually asked a question Mat, but I assume it is "Can Blender be used to produce models for FS9?" I don't know the answer to that one for sure, but Blender is a generic modelling program and it probably will. The next question, is; "is a facility required to compile the m...

Re: Parking Behavior Question

That doesn't look right. Let me explain with a couple of ADE screen shots. Firstly, the principle. AI will push back the same distance as the first node from the exit. So if the first node is positioned on, or very close to the centre, there won't be a pushback. This is the way to do it: https://i.i...

Re: Parking Behavior Question

What you have to do is drop a new blue node on the parking link. You then drag this node backwards to the very centre of the parking spot without going beyond it. As you begin to move the node, the arrow will be easy to keep in line with the parking link (I don't think it matters which direction the...

Re: Parking Behavior Question

Your observation that the aircraft are parked correctly when the sim is launched, but are not so, when they return from flight, tends to indicate that the anti-pushback nodes might be causing the problem. If they are not properly aligned, they will likely cause the aircraft to park out of place on r...

Re: Urgent Forum Maintenance

Martin/Greg, talking of money, will you be reinstating the donations button? Can you say anything about how much money we need to raise each year to pay for the facilities? Chipping in is the least we can do, after all the hard work, to keep the new ball rolling.

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Brilliant job Ray and many thanks. We have 7 P3D airfields fitted out with AFCAD overlays for the helicopters and they are working fine with test flight plans. I just need to update the helicopters with your paints and make the operational flight plans. There is a bit of work to do on the FSX overla...
