Re: Installing MAIW packages in P3D

You might want to experiment with the options you see when you double-click after making the polygon.

Like I said earlier, it takes a little getting used to.

And if (God forbid) you ever have to reinstall P3D, do install it somewhere outside the reach of UAC, like into a folder you create yourself ...

Re: Installing MAIW packages in P3D

You open the AFCAD in ADE, and make a polygon around it - as small or large as you see fit, runway or the whole airfield.

I use it some to get rid of autogen trees on the runways.

Re: Installing MAIW packages in P3D

You make a polygon (icon for that is on the icon bar) around the object/airport of the size you imagine it should be ( it takes a couple of tries to get the hang of it).

Basically, you put your mouse cursor where one of the corners of the polygon should be, click there (single-click) move the ...

Re: Installing MAIW packages in P3D

For the first issue: in a subfolder in your ADE installation named "FSX", there should be a file named "bglcomp.exe". If there isn't one, search your system for it, and then copy it to that folder.

You might also have to reinstall your FSX SDK - actually, I would do that first of all, so the ...

Re: Installing MAIW packages in P3D

There is actually a duplivate airport scanner now that works up to P3D v. 6 included in Lorby SI's Prepar3d Addon Organizer.

In the Addon Organizer, go to Tools, and there it is. The output is a comma-separated file (.csv) that I open with Notepad++.

As for the cvx files, nothing is going to ...

Re: Installing MAIW packages in P3D

What I do in such cases (and also for FS9 sceneries) is that I open the scenery in ADE, recompile it to P3D, and then if there are buildings "lying around" like in your screenshot, create a .CVX file - an exclusion, so as to keep autogen away, and also flatten if necessary.

Also I take the ...

AIFP issue

Today I am having an issue with AIFP that has left me scratching my head.

Last I used AIFP was 2 days ago, and then it worked just fine. When I started it today, it did as it normally does, scanning P3D v. 5 for files and showing the screen that Don's site is offline. I click OK to that screen, and ...

Re: Switched from FSX to P3Dv6

I have mine in a folder outside the sim.

You can put the folder anywhere and then just point the PATH line in Reggie's reply to its location.

Re: End of Life for MAIW?

And I know that a while ago Martin - bless him for all his tireless work - got a new job, I gather in some kind of an engineering/managerial position, with all that involves. Ugh.

I am so happy that I'm retired!

Forgot to add something: in the bottom schreenshot, you can just make out a Huey directly over the T-45. It has just taken off from Minot and is on its merry way out to a silo. At least 3 others are on the way in other directions.

Re: JYAI HH-60W Jolly Green Giant II

John, a quote: "and never say a thing".

Well, it's time for me to pipe up then, here are 2 screenshots of my installation of your Minot, with my peculiar mix of flight plans.

In the first one, look at the end of the row of parked birdies... in the next, that particular bird is taxiing.

Re: Tinker E-3 plans

The thing here is that the WoAI installer will not work unless you have FSX or FS9 installed.

If you have P3D, then at least I have not been able to make it work.

Then you'll need the "decompiled" archive.
