Re: Tango's workbench

I've never had a problem with Orbx trees growing where they aren't wanted! What Orbx sceneries have you got installed that affect UK? If you have England (North) or True Earth they'll have their own versions of EGXE which will need deleting, but you'd have had other issues which would have made that...

Brazil Project Support queries

Part 1 of the FSX and P3Dv5 versions of the Brazil Project has been uploaded to the site and hopefully will shortly appear in the AI Packages area of the Download Hangar. Subsequent Parts will be uploaded in due course through 2024. If you have any queries about the content or use of the packages, p...

Not yet, as far as I'm aware. The latest version of Blender2P3D/FSX works up to version 3.6. Available here: clicky

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Hi John yes, your SBGP works fine in both P3Dv4 and v5. It helps that there was no need to significantly move the airfield, nor revise the elevation, from stock. The phototiles are now the same in both FSX and P3Dv5 packages, as there simply wasn't enough room in the upload file limit to have the pr...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

OK, just to make sure I had only the Brazil package installed, plus the Orbx South America mesh and Landclass, I reinstalled P3Dv4.5 and rebuilt it from the vanilla sim. I can confirm that none of my airfields work at all in P3Dv4. John's SBGP does work, and I think the reason for the difference is ...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Hi Dan. OK, I've got P3Dv4 up and running again - after a fashion, at least. At the moment its scenery.cfg and addon.cfg files are a bit of a mess, but I've managed to get SBAN into it. The first clue is that it shows none of the parking spots as available to start the session from. When I go into t...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Hi Dan. I'm sorry, but that doesn't make a lot of sense to me! All of my P3D airfields are compiled for P3Dv5.4. All of my FSX airfields are compiled using the P3Dv1.4 SDK, which is fully compatible with all versions of FSX. As far as I am aware, John's SBGP is compiled for P3Dv5 and boxed FSX 'Acce...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Dan, can you confirm that you didn’t find the SBGP folder in one of the zip folders? It’s definitely in both as I see them. If that not what you received I need to look at it again. Can you let me know what the file dates are that you have?

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Some may query why the light splashes are less strong in the P3D shots. John and I spent quite a lot of time finding a P3D dynamic lighting solution that produced adequate illumination without causing blinding reflections from some textures! We have a few screenshots of sun-rivalling buildings... Th...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

After making the above post, I noticed that half the P3D apron lights were missing for some reason (as can be seen in the top screenshot vs the second one)! It seems to have been a 'save' issue, as they're there in the file, but I've replaced the file in the Part 1 zip. I haven't uploaded that yet a...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

The FSX light splashes are from the effect fx_JY_apronlight or fx_JY_apronlight_large, and the texture fx_JY_apronlight must be in your effects\texture folder. If you've installed the P3D airfields in your P3Dv4, you'll should have the dynamic light effects (there are 14 in the P3D effects folder) a...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Dan, thanks for that. For either version of Anapolis (and many of the other sceneries) we recommend you have a mesh for South America installed. FSX is simply dreadful at representing South America, but P3D isn't great (even v5). There is a freeware one linked to in the Overview document, but I use ...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Hi again all. CALL FOR TESTING AND FEEDBACK! John and I have bounced stuff backwards and forwards for a couple of weeks now and we're both getting punch-drunk! Both packages (FSX and P3D) are complete and within my folder in the FTP as Zip files (Brazil Part 1 FSX.zip and Brazil Part 1 P3D.zip). Bot...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Part 1 (FSX) and Part 1 (P3D) are now in the FTP in .zip folders. They're fairly big downloads (140/250mb), but will fit in the new upload system. Please have a look if you have time. Once any errors are dealt with we will be going live. I'm going for a beer.

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Hi all. Apologies for the lack of comms for a while. The compilation of the covering literature hasn't been simple and we are still working on it. The Upload facility is back, and we are hoping it's stable. The limit of 256mb per upload does restrict what we can do as the ground phototiles can be qu...

700+ 'users online' at 0430 this morning (I was up because my under-construction new office/studio was flooded out last night!). If only! Jorgen, thank you - but I'd like to manage your expectations. Our project is ambitious but I wouldn't put it above the excellent stuff MAIW has created in the pas...

This is the situation right now: https://i.imgur.com/Hg0tkOt.png The only registered human user online is me. I imagine Greg has set up some kind of statistical analysis with Bing, hence their bot is registered. The other 84 will be crawlers from all kinds of online data gatherers. The 'most ever us...

There's actually plenty of room on the main apron, certainly for a C-130. I never parked anywhere else at Leeming.

Anapolis in P3Dv6

Tried it out just to see how it looked. So much third party stuff doesn't work in V6, but my airfields do! I just love the lighting, and shadows are deliciously sharp - even better than MSFS, I'd venture. However, it takes a seriously ninja computer to run it at 30fps or above... https://i.imgur.com...
