Re: New German AF Bases for P3D

For scenery in my experience, draw calls is the main performance issue for FSX/P3D, texture vertices not so much. LODs are needed less in P3D for scenery as they can be counter productive and bump up the draw calls. The only scenes I use them for now are cars and ground equipment. About 5 years ago ...

is they a Coningsby scenery update for flight sim 2004
I released a FS9 version of the FSX scenery in 2013 which is in the download hangar. That version will be sufficient for Johns new models in FS9.

Re: Eurofighter Typhoon

My Coningsby scenery for FSX is more than fine for now even in P3D. Although I may need to add a exclude for V5 for some buildings. The new version is mainly to add: - Custom ground poly - Custom night lighting - PBR texture option - Dynamic lighting - Improve some models and textures - Add any new ...

Thanks. I thought that would be the case. I will try and get back down there in the day and have another look. I only live 20 miles away.

Re: Eurofighter Typhoon

I cant believe I have only just spotted this. The model looks terrific as always John. Funny as I have been updating my Coningsby scenery for P3D the last couple of months. In fact I actually have been there photographing various bits which have been added since I last went. Does anyone know how man...

Re: FSX RAF Coningsby and ADE

Only just seen this. I built the parking file with AFX which has no limit on the aprons. However for P3D that wont be a issue soon as the parking file will have no aprons as I have made a custom ground poly and a few other updates which I hope to release in the near future.

Re: ACG Airbase Color Blend

Goodday Gentlemen, Ian thank you for making me aware of the P3d specific version of Lakenheath. It is again a one of your masterpieces. However, there is an texture issue at the end of the Runway. There is a large untextured grey square present. It looks as though this area was meant to be excluded...

Re: ACG Airbase Color Blend

Alconbury was the next airbase I installed. Haha, Love that scenery. After seeing the sad state of its appearance in the Regional scenery, it was a must to get your version installed! I found the same autogen issue that you spoke of. Ian, did you get a weird red and black blob-artifact North West o...

Re: ACG Airbase Color Blend

Ok, turning off the PR does make the two air bases blend better for sure. Alignment with the ORBX PR is pretty close so no real concerns there. The disadvantage though is that now we have ORBX buildings occupying the same space as the custom ACG ones. Not horrible in most cases, but not pretty eith...

Re: ACG Airbase Color Blend

I am currently downloading the ORBX south photo scenery as we speak actually. The Twin bases is a case of removing the files John mentioned and my Coningsby should be simple to remove the photo tiles also. I think its named CGY_PHOTO.bgl. Lakenheath and Alconbury has higher (I imagine at least as hi...

Re: Lakenheath FSX - Newbie

I have noticed that there seem to be no functioning runway/taxiway ligts in EGUL, did i do something wrong, or is it just the way that is? If you are using FSX then I have no idea why the lights are not showing? If you are using the FSX version in P3D then the lights will not show and you will need...

Re: Panavia Tornado

They look superb John. I like many others have been waiting for a new Tornado model with various load-outs so I am really pleased to see these. It will give me a kick to get back on the Cottesmore scenery which I made a start on at the start of the year. I have also slowly been updating Coningsby fo...

Re: Tornado for P3D V4

I've made a start on the model. There is no way I can match the exiting texture mapping without doing what you tried and matching it poly for poly and that's something I don't want to be constrained by. It sounds like a breach of copyright in any case. John Thats great news John. Are you modelling ...

Re: RAF Lakenheath for FSX/P3D

Only just seen this. That texture is unused in the scenery and was placed in there by mistake. A new P3D V4 version will be uploaded soon with some of the initial errors fixed.

I've just amended the AFX file to show under United Kingdom. Typing EGWZ always brought Alconbury up straight away on my system to be fair.

Re: Retro RAF Alconbury

Hi

I have just tried to replicate your problem but I cant seem to see it with the FSX SP2 at least.
The FSX version is not something that I have tested in depth as I do not support or use FSX anymore.

Cheers

Just a quick note. The file has been re uploaded due to a aircraft crash from some users. So I have removed all crash boxes to be safe.

Re: Retro RAF Alconbury

Its only supported for V4 but I have tried it in P3D V3 and it seems to work fine in that sim. It will not work in FSX, if I release a FSX version the night lights will not function as intended and it is too much work to re engineer them unfortunatly. As mentioned in a earlier post I am no longer de...
