Re: WSMG AI F-16 preview
If I had to guess those new F-16s for the EAF at Cairo West are with the 222 Tactical Fighter Brigade (76 Squadron and 78 Squadron), replacing their F-4 Phantoms. Those are the last two F-4E Phantom squadrons in the EAF, and my guess is that with the latest F-16 deliveries they are starting the conv...

Re: AI S-3B Viking
The Hoovers look great! They will be a wonderful addition to FS. Just a quick note on the US-3's; they don't have the wingtip pods that the S-3 and ES-3 variants have. I don't know if it is something you want to change at this point but they just have regular rounded wingtips.

Re: Help with the Falcon...
Ah, now I got it! Yeah, it's an oval panel which is tucked half under the tip of the vertical stab. Here's a couple photos of Greek F-16's which show the outline of the oval. The one with the CFTs is a Block 52 and the other is a Block 50. http://aerobaticteams.net/UserFiles/pictures/BC3492F7-0A94-F...

Re: Help with the Falcon...
Are you referring to the area on top of the fuselage between the front of the vertical stabilizer and the refuelling door? The Block 50/52s don't have the two reinforcement plates that angle away from the point of the stab and fit between the access panels. I'm not quite sure what area you are exact...

Re: Help with the Falcon...
I think the wing plates would be good as just an outline. They are very thin, so maybe making them a slightly more prominent panel line would be enough to suggest they are there. https://media.defense.gov/2009/Dec/10/2000415876/-1/-1/0/091208-F-8733W-502.JPG The fuselage plates are thicker. Maybe th...

Re: Help with the Falcon...
You mean the RAM panels around the two RHAW antennas on the sides of the nose just aft of the nosecone? Nope, not prominent enough to matter. I would include them as panel lines on the Block 25 and 30/32's. Here's a pretty good photo that shows a Block 30 with the RAM panel as a barely visible outli...

Re: Help with the Falcon...
Well I just attempted to submit a reply, and I have no idea where it went. Frustrating but I'll try again. This time the abridged version. The difference between the MCID 'Big Mouth' intake and the small-mouth NSI intake at the point where the intake pylons are is really nonexistent, certainly not t...

Here's a good side photo of the original lightweight wheel in white: https://media.defense.gov/2017/Mar/01/2001705415/-1/-1/0/170301-F-IO108-001.JPG Of course, everything I said about dates in my first post only really applies to the US Air Force. Some nations still had original wheels on their earl...

Re: Help with the Falcon...
For the F-16 there was four different wheel/tires. The early blocks (through B32) had narrower tires, and there was two different types of wheels. -Original wheels had large, round holes (also, at the very beginning of the 80's they were actually painted black, but were repainted in white by the mid...

Re: WSMG AI F-16 preview
The rocket pods would be rotated simply because the mounting lugs are fixed. The store has to be rotated 45 degrees in order for the lugs to attach into the bomb rack. Bombs and guidance units are going towards gray colors, but nobody is repainting existing stockpiles, and there is no rule about wha...

Re: WSMG AI F-16 preview
Would it be possible to replace the AMRAAM's with a CATM-9 and AMD or TACTS pod for the training loadout? CATM's are captive carry Sidewinders with live seeker heads so it would just require a different texture for the existing AIM-9 model. They would go on the right wingtip rail. AMD's are just wei...

Re: WSMG AI F-16 preview
Mike - Can do the LAU-117 (very basic shape - would also assume the GBU-12's would be on a TER slant load configuration) TARS - Can do - found side view but no front view, also have difficulty with dimensions. We have a CBU-103 already. [edit] removed BDU's, your post just popped up. For the LAU-13...

Re: WSMG AI F-16 preview
Oh, and some blue bodies, the BDU-33 practice bombs, would be nice to see for training purposes. Probably see more of that flying around the US than a full combat loadout of live ordnance.

Re: WSMG AI F-16 preview
The CBU-87/CBU-103 in the SUU-65 canister is what is used today for cluster munitions. The CBU-58 used the SUU-30 canister and has been retired. The SUU-30 had a narrowing aft end, almost like a cigar, while the SUU-65 is basically a constant diameter cylinder all the way from the nose to the tail k...

Re: JYAI P-8 Poseidon and B-737 AEW&C
The P-3 is based on the Lockheed L188 Electra airliner. You know who still flies the Electra? Essentially nobody. The P-3's are old. Airframes are worn out, mechanical and electrical gremlins are everywhere. Piecemeal upgrades to systems and capabilities has lead to an inefficient design with diffic...
