Re: Virtavia C-17 question
I have the Virtavia, not bad. I'd say it's worth it. Handles really well just like the real aircraft, panel is nice and pretty functional, don't remember if I had to add my own soundset or not though. If that is the case, find your favorite P&W 757 soundset....it's the same engine

Wow, nice to see my package still floating around out there 8) No, I'm not dead. Just real-world has kept me away for a while (ok, a few years). If anyone wants to take this project and run with it more you have my blessing, just give credit where due and let me know before you upload it anywhere. U...

Re: Stewart AFB getting C-17's
The C-17s will replace the C-5s, the C-130s are actually KC-130Ts and are from VMGR-452, a US Marine Corps Reserve unit also based here.
Stewart is actually an ANGB, not an active AFB. The C-5/C-17s are part of the 105thAW, NY Air National Guard.

The pilot ejected and was recovered safely. The F-15, flying out of Kadena Air Base, went down in the Pac...

MAIW Package File Reorganization
I didn't know where to post this so I apologize if this is in the wrong place.... I used to be A LOT more active posting on here so I also apologize for kind of coming out of nowhere with this, but would it be possible to implement some type of MAIW continuity in file/folder naming? For example, som...

US Naval Aviator Career Path
Hey all,
I've been doing some searching but havent really found anything good. I am looking for an outline of a "typical" Naval Aviator's career path from training to retirement. Any US Navy guys out there that can help?

Re: What's this?
Looks like either a SNIPR or FLIR pod, and i believe it's actually attached to the fuselage (more right than directly under) instead of the wing.
EDIT: Correction, it looks more like a LITENING targeting pod

Re: COSO Callsign
I was actually going to bring this up too. I learned about "COSO" because the VRS Superbug Dust Devil repaint has that as it's callsign. This is the proper way to bring it up, not by attacking the staff here for their FREE work lol

Re: Herks with ski's
When I was in ROTC we flew with the "Ski-Birds" on one of their regularly configured C-130s. From what I remember them saying it is a very flat landing with little to no flair, and these pictures seem to provide that info. http://www.airliners.net/photo/USA---Air/Lockheed-Martin-LC-130H/16...

Re: Act of Valor
Great movie, but like Des said very sad. It annoys me to no end that all we care about in this Country is what color shoes Kim Kardashian is wearing today, while these guys are out doing what they do. If nothing else hopefully most of the people who see this will think to take a step back.

Re: TRAIN SIMULATOR 2012 "TOTAL CRAP"
I wasn't saying it's perfect. Not by a long shot. I think it's kind of over-the-top to claim it not as a simulator though. Real-world engineers can't take their locomotvies wherever they want, they go on set tracks and switches that they can't "request" it's up to dispatch. I just think it...

Re: TRAIN SIMULATOR 2012 "TOTAL CRAP"
I have Railworks TS2012 and I thought it was pretty good. Penn Station's track layout (in the NE Corridor addon) is "slightly" incorrect. You would never know that though unless you've actually spent a lot of time there. Overall I think it's a pretty good simulator. Way better than MSTS. I...
