JS _ KTIK Flatten
Taking a shot in the dark here... Has anyone by chance created a alternate flatten file to go with the KTIK scenery for FS9 by JS for use in a setup with FS Genesis 38m Terrain Mesh and a Max Vertex of 19? Before I dedicate time to making one, I just wanted to inquire if anyone else has already done...

Re: Best Practice Question
Appreciate the input Steve and Tim... It is strictly for myself and is related to some non-military AI that I have been integrating into my setup, hence the periodic encounters with ICAO changes at civilian airports. Not a huge issue at the moment other than having to go into the sim to cross check ...

Best Practice Question
While working on some new AI Traffic Flight Plans in FS9 I am noticing that a number of the stock airport ICAO codes have changed in the real world. Does anyone have a best practice recommendation for updating / changing this information? Is it worth the time and effort or am I just better with a sp...

Andy,
If you ever get interested in picking it back up...All you need is a portable USB CD-ROM Drive and you can get FS2004 up and running just fine. If you are using WIN10 HOME or PRO PM me or post to this thread and I can walk you through it...

Re: A brand new MS Flight Simulator is coming...
Thank goodness I chose to stick with FS2004 unrelentingly. As someone who is 60+ years old the adage "newer is not always better" is ringing the bells hard and loud... Granted, the work done for FSX and P3D looks phenomenal, but FS2004 and MAIW fit like a glove once upon a time and I am th...

A2A Shockwave Lights Redux
Hello Everyone, Just had to do a major overhaul of my computer and seem to have lost my notes regarding details and definitions I had for each of the effect files in the A2A Shockwave Lights Redux v1.2 for FS9. The default installed pdf file only gives info for a handful of the 40 effects actually i...

Re: A brand new MS Flight Simulator is coming...
Hard call to make. I still check the forum here daily to keep track of the development efforts. However, FS9 remains my stopping point. IMHO it remains the version that continues to win any Pro/Con list I make. Each of the follow on sims (FSX, P3D, MSFS-202X) have sought to leverage the capabilities...

Re: Thoughts on the next project
John,
If I recall one of the missions in the movie involved an Iron Hand loadout... early version carried Shrikes...later version carried AGM-78.

Re: C-5B Galaxy Interior Paint Colors
Thanks Giorgio,
I will post the questions there as well. I just know from hanging out here thru the years that a lot of real-life Air Force folks are here as well.
My 22+ years were all Army so was just a passenger on numerous flights during the time period noted...

C-5B Galaxy Interior Paint Colors
So, for Christmas, the wife got me the Anigrand 1/72 Lockheed C-5B Galaxy to build and I want to model it during the 1981 to 1991 time period (which is when the majority of my flights on this bird took place). Are there any members who can give me the accurate names or Federal Standard numbers for t...

Re: Thoughts on the next project
John...A huge thank you for all of your contributions to FS9, and by extension thanks to everyone here at MAIW. It has been a fantastic ride with you all. FS9 is the end of the road for me due to my age and time constraints for migrating to yet another version of the sim. I have been an avid support...
Re: JYAI P-8A
Amen on the "time consumption" point John. As much as I love tinkering with my FS9 setup and the few major ADE projects I have started and not finished due to real life constraints, make gentlemen such as yourself "invaluable" to the hobby. I always have and always will appreciat...

Re: Windows 11 (very early)
I understand that in part MS feels this is a necessary evolution in their business modeling, but fear this is going to backfire spectacularly for them. The majority of businesses are not going to make the massive capital expenditures MS and the PC industry are counting on. My employer is discussing ...

Thanks Tim,
Very well stated...That fits with what my brother-in-law was trying to explain to me as well...sorry for the distraction John and crew.
For the record, I have never "flown" USAF aircraft, I just have lots of experience leaving them before they land...

Re: JYAI Boeing KC-46A’s
Per my brother-in-law (retired USAF ATC and former Senior NCO of the USAF ATC School) the usage of "heavy" has a varied history within the USAF. At various points it was not utilized at all, at others only when arriving/departing civilian airports, and yet again as a constant. Recently I h...
