Re: Most wanted AI poll

Jon, I am always interested in any mil AI models. So I would like to see it finished. The way I look at it, it doesn't matter what you find interesting to model, if it is not covered then make it. Somebody will always want it. It is the same with painters some prefer to paint small numbers of aircra...

Re: Converting FSX flightplans to FS2004 flightplans

Paul, you have to move away from TrafficTools. It has no error checking whatsoever. Nobody is suggesting that you use all, or even most, of the features available in AIFP - but there are definitely some you will find useful. Bottom line is even if you only decompile and compile then using AIFP will ...

There are a few C-2/E-2 units still to be painted. I am sure that somebody will do them once the paint kit has been released.

Re: Blurry AI textures in P3D v5

So, purely from a interest point of view, is it a case that nomipmap textures are better in v5?
Has this been tested?

Re: C-130J-30 models

I had a look at the RDAF paints and they are for FS9 only. However there are a couple of useful things to glean from that pack. Firstly they say to use the CC-130J-30 model which does not have tanks nor does it have a refuelling probe. So that is your starting point. Also for FSX/P3D versions the sl...

As a side note, if one of those flight plan wiz types produces a plan for the new aircraft, 19-0018, make it available please.
Thanks in advance.

Re: P3D texture sizes

You are correct in that FS9 can't handle 2048.

What i would say is that it is easy to size down, whatever sim you use, but you can't scale up w/o introducing errors.
As everybody knows I can't use paint packages but I can easily resize the bmps.

Re: Potential Piracy

I can confirm that they contacted Nick about his B-1 and that he would be paid for its use, per sale. I know this because he was naffed off that they never paid him a penny.
This was true as of the last time he mentioned it to me, which was about a year after it's release.

My account is linked to my gmail address and I have never had thread reply emails but it could be that I switched that off. However, I still get notifications for pms, at least I did up to Friday.

Re: Boeing 767 Military Derivatives

I think that you may be right. Tim. The thing that may have made the difference, again with hindsight, was that Grumman was going to build them in the US. Just right now Boeing is not as popular in Government circles as it was at the time. It may have made a difference. We will never know for sure b...

Re: Boeing 767 Military Derivatives

If the USAF and Congress had known about all the issues that they would have with these would they still dumped the KC-45?

Yes I know its a hindsight question, but still.

Re: AI starting speed: Possible to decrease?

His AI FDE Settings table is a gold mine for how the most common settings alter various stages of flight. You have to know what you want to do, then look up what will make that happen. Then you note what else will change and then work out if you need to counter that by altering another parm. You wil...

Re: AI starting speed: Possible to decrease?

As a principal do not reduce the power on its own, unless it is so vastly overpowered that it is an obvious thing to do. What I mean here is that whilst you would decrease the acceleration and therefore increase the take off roll you will have a knock on effect. This will normally entail the aircraf...
