Re: 207 OCU

You are right, Mark. I have heard that too. However, I have been around long enough to know that things change, even if it drives the Engineering mafia crazy. Its kinda what I hinted at in the last line. At the moment things like sqn markings/codes are going to be an interesting case not least becau...

207 OCU

Don't know if anybody else caught it but 207 OCU moved to Marham with its 6 a/c, so far.
What's more some had Sqn markings on the tail, and yes they have changed them from the red bar bordered in yellow that they wore on Tucanos. Well at the moment anyway, whether they will change is any ones guess.

Re: MAIW NBAI Boeing CH-47 Chinook Conversion Support

Well a bit late to the party but I found the problem. The mdl in the model.ch47d folder was NBAI_Chinook.mdl which is the fs9 version. This is why it didn't show up. I downloaded both the FSX and P3D packages and neither one had that mdl in it. What I believe happened is that somehow you copied the ...

Re: MAIW NBAI Boeing CH-47 Chinook Conversion Support

OK lets start with some simple elimination stuff. Tim, what version of P3D are you using? Also when I looked in the model.cfg for the P3D CH47D I noticed that it said :- normal= NBAI_Chinook P3D now the actual model is ' nbai_chinook P3D '. I don't know if it is case sensitive but try altering the m...

Re: MAIW NBAI Boeing CH-47 Chinook Conversion Support

OK thanks. I have downloaded that package and will investigate. What might help is if you are able to give a CH-47D serial or two from the P3D package that does work. *UPDATE* I have checked a lot of CH-47D schemes and they seems to be the same make up as the ones that you mention so next is definit...

Re: FS9 Scenery Conversion to P3D

Hi Jim, The reason is very simple. Some developers only have FS9. As you say Brian's' Westover and Fairchild sceneries are very good. For scenery to be included as part of Matrix they need to be in P3D format and we have to have permission from the author. Brian is probably amenable to that, I do no...

Re: MAIW NBAI Boeing CH-47 Chinook Conversion Support

Tim,I think to narrow this one down we are going to need the specific serials which will mean that we can get the specific models.

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials

Well if you see the age of the file it would have been direct from Avsim I would imagine. As you say I tried searching through all his loads on both avsim and fltsim.com and it is not there. John has always allowed us to use his scenery but I can understand that this is different as he never include...

John,
I have had a look for cywg_js.zip and as luck would have it I installed it and still have the original zip.

I placed a copy in your folder for you to look over.

Re: ACA2017 & P3Dv4

Is that also the case in FS9? Does it check only check scenery\world\scenery on that system? I would have thought that somebody would have said before now if it was the case, but not guaranteed. The key thing is to find out whether it is a P3D thing or a program thing. That is where I would start. W...

Re: AI AH-64 question

I guess that what Brent eludes to, and this is a general thing rather than AH-64 specific, is that if you are unsure open up the A scheme and then open up a D scheme and see if it looks the same. If there are extra bits then the chances are that the will not be easily interchangeable. I have done th...

If anybody wants to paint other ones from those Laarbruch sqns then I have some serials from that time.
I haven't got any from 31 Sqn and its PR7s that were also there at that time though.

Re: MAIW JKAI Northrop T-38 Talon Conversion Support

If you have the old FS9 schemes then it should be possible to convert them to dds using DXTBmp. The first thing you would need is to open a P3D compatible scheme, any one, and export the alpha. Then load one of the old FS9 schemes that you want to convert and flip the image. If you then load the sav...

I do know that Manschy is still working on his Bruggen project and no B(I)8 has been released by John so at the moment there is no good news for you on either.

Re: Lakenheath Pave Hawks

I have Wethersfield set up as the home of a joint UK-US Rapid Reaction Force, which gives me the excuse to have anything I want flying from there, and to modify the airfield in whatever way I want to accommodate them! Makes it a bit busy in Essex/Suffolk with modern-day Stansted and Southend plus 1...

Re: Lakenheath Pave Hawks

Exactly. I wish, I wish I could manipulate a paint proggie.

I would have 892 Sqn F-14Ks land based at Leuchars and 5, 11 and ETF F-15Ks based at Binbrook. Old airfields should never die - they should just get used for weird what if scenarios.

Not in my sim, they will stay where I put them  .

In reality, if there new schemes and plans appear then I will probably move them.
