Re: MAIW FMAI Dassault Mirage 2000 Family Conversion Support
Hello Andrew, From the looks of the front plane my guess is that you've tried to use the model from the conversion package in FSX. The conversion is P3D only and is not supposed to be used in FSX. For FSX, models of the original packages should work just fine. If not, there's nothing I can do about ...

Re: Thoughts on the next project
Even so I own MSFS from day 1, so far it ain't much more for me than a very impressive slideshow. I'm sure they'll, wth the help of the guys over at AIG, get AI going eventually, but nobody known when this will be. Until that day I'll stick to P3D. I can fully understand John's problem with developi...

Re: MGAI PC-21 FSX Conversion
Hello. The package is for P3DV4 only, not for FSX. When you look for compatibility at the information window of the download details it doesn't mention FSX. Packages that support both versions usually come with different effect folders and differents aircraft.cfg as mentioned in the Readme. Sorry, i...

Re: No update new download lately?
The grass doesn't grow faster when you pull on it (African proverb) I'm still in the process of converting the Su-24. Current status is around 70% finished. But real life sometimes prevents you from moving forward. Right now I'm working in another country with 10+ each day. So even if I could find s...

Re: Thoughts on the next project
The YB-17 you mentioned is a whole different plane from John's B-17G (nose, tail, fuselage). Obviously there were a couple of B-17Gs converted to fire bombers from the mid 50s to early 60s. They went out of service in the beginning of the 80s, mostly converted back to their military appearance. Look...

Re: Thoughts on the next project
An aircraft never done as AI, both used by US Army and US Navy as well as a lot of other operators, retro and current, would be the OH-6 Cayuse/MD 500 helicopter.Over time they put a lot of attachments on this bird, but I think the basic shape didn't change that much.

Re: Unusual elevator - animation question
From what I read and also from my personal experience flyable aircraft often (not always) make poor AI planes. You'll need to tweak aircraft.cfg and most likely the .air file in order to make it work properly. But maybe the C-141 is an exception, don't know. Regarding LOD P3Dv5 can more easily deal ...

Re: Unusual elevator - animation question
In general John is correct. Even as it says 'amend/distribute as you fit' I'd say the amend part is for repaints, not necessarily for modification. As Alphasim isn't around anymore but Virtavia is hosting the files they'd be the first to ask. Being requested by a lot of people unfortunately isn't cr...

Re: Unusual elevator - animation question
Looking at some takeoff videos of C-141's it seems a little bit too much elevator but otherwise good job. As for the xml, there's a topic named 'Draft instructions on how to convert models from FS9 to FSX / P3D' over at the guys from AIG (https://www.alpha-india.net/forums/index.php?topic=25691.msg2...

Re: Unusual elevator - animation question
As those planes are already converted and released MAIW already got the permission from Mike Peason. The right people to ask about this probably would be the one of the admins of MAIW, Firebird or Greg. Picture really look great. If you go on with those conversions don't be surprised if one day you'...

Re: Unusual elevator - animation question
So this is the now freeware model from Alphasim. This is a flyable aircraft, not AI. There are actually two animations, one for the elevators (at the end of the horizontal stabilizer) itself and for the pitch trim that moves the whole stabilizer. Elevators should be pretty straight forward. Pitch tr...

Re: MPAI MiG-23 and MiG-27 Takeoff Issue
Conversion of the MiG-23 is finished. The package is currently in quality check. As Martin is currently taking a well deserved break it's difficult to say when it will be released.

Re: Issue with John Stinstrom libraries
You need at least the Acceleration Pack, FSX Deluxe or FSX Gold to be able to run SDK. Standard Version won't work.

Re: MAIW MPAI Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-27 Flogger Conversion Support
I guess you meant flightplan #2 (Red 26) not aircraft #2, because aircraft #2 isn't flying from XRWM to XRRM I took the flightplan and placed it into my P3DV4 without recompiling. It's a little difficult to watch that plane as none of these airfields exist inside my version. Do you have any of those...

Re: MAIW MPAI Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-27 Flogger Conversion Support
What you see in MCX is perfectly normal. Mike Pearson separated the three positions for the swept wings into two animations, one for the full back and the full forward position and the other one for the movement from full forward to middle position. As MCX is showing all animations at the same time ...

Re: MPAI MiG-23 and MiG-27 Takeoff Issue
Good news, everyone ! I tested Henk's rotation and the plane takes off very nicely. At the critical point during rotate there isn't much space between the tail fin and ground (I'll have to tell my pilots to be very careful). However it created two unpleasant side effects. At level flight it looks li...

Wow, the look absolute fantastic Mins! And like jetpilot1980 said they'd be a great addition to the century fighters. Give yourself a push and release them, they're build to fly.

Re: MPAI MiG-23 and MiG-27 Takeoff Issue
@Martin on the next test flight look at the movements of the elevators (in the fs9 version they were animated, but only from the horizontal to up position). You can see that at first are set like the plane is really trying to get the tail off the ground, just like a taildragger. Once the plane is le...

Re: MPAI MiG-23 and MiG-27 Takeoff Issue
I checked the extension of both nose and main gear. Nose has 0.656ft (200mm), main exactly half of that (0.328ft or 100mm). Contact point are defined as this: point.0=1, 12.1950, 0.0, -5.7484, 1181.1, 0, 0.75, 46.8, 0.7500, 2.000, 0.9100, 3.000, 3.000, 0.000, 260.000, 260.000 point.1=1, -6.8695, -4....
