Re: Nice what you see just looking out the hotel.

It was pretty cool. Noticed quite a few Police helicopters using that route as well.

Managed to catch this one going by.

Nice what you see just looking out the hotel.

Just back from a wee holiday to DC. Caught this flying along the Potomac while standing on the balcony of my hotel. Weather wasn't great, and it was nice of the crew to come round again for a better look. http://i1273.photobucket.com/albums/y418/aenstrop/P1040835_zpse8982f35.jpg http://i1273.photobu...

Jeremy,

Thanks for the reply. Taxi looks most likely way of getting there for me.

Looking forward to going; it'll be nice to see something a bit different for a change.

Re: Aviation Nation 2011 - Nellis AFB 12/13 Nov 2011

Thanks Mike, that's what I'd been thinking most likely.

Nellis website gives good advice for those going by car, but nothing about public transport.

Aviation Nation 2011 - Nellis AFB 12/13 Nov 2011

I'm off to Vegas in a few weeks time, and as luck would have it this is on at the same time (pure co-incidence).

Would anyone be able to advise on public transport that would be going to this (most likely on the Sunday).

Thanks

Re: Viper goes offroading at Oshkosh...

Slightly off topic - saw a Mig21, Romanian Air Force over run the short runaway (28) at Lossiemouth a few years back. Quick look at the undercarriage and it was towed off the grass and flying again that afternoon. They made 'em tough.

On the scrounge again

Following my appeal for a couple of RAF packages that I had mislaid (lost) over the years I was fortunate to receive the packages from one of the members here. Thanks Chrisb. Now I'm on the scrounge again. I'm hoping that some kind soul may have the AI Malcontent / EVAI ERJ135 & 145s, the CDAI C...

Re: What Internet browser to you use??

I've been using Safari for a while (the Windows version). Seems pretty stable but has problems downloading files from some sites, including Flightsim.com.

Re: Your Top 10 Aviation Movies

Some good films listed above. My ones would be: 1. Dambusters (I'm biased having served over 3 years on 617 and been immersed in the squadron history on a daily basis) 2. Battle of Britain 3. Memphis Belle 4. Top Gun 5. Flight of the Intruder (although I preferred the book - Coonts is a genius) 6. C...

That had to be one of the worst days I've had the pleasure to stand out in the rain at Lossie. Have to say though that it was worth it for the Typhoon. First time I've seen it display and it was pretty dammed good. Lots of noise just like the old days and nicely thrown about by the jockey. The Reds ...
