Re: Thoughts on the next project

Some great suggestions here for sure, if you fancy something a little different how about the Il-18 series aircraft, could make some great retro stuff with that & still used by the Russian Air Force & Air Koryo

Re: transparent canopy???

It is also possible to use dxtbmp as well, that's what I use. It's very simple, firstly load the texture, click Image & flip it, then click Alpha & select Create Alpha Template & click yes when asked to override the current alpha. Save as a DDS (DXT3) job done. I then use MCX to check if it looks ri...

Re: Dans bits & bobs

Just uploaded a shed load of Russian callsigns to the hangar for use in FSX only. They're based on this website:http://www.udxf.nl/Russian-Air-Force-Callsign-List.pdf You'll have to use you imagination a bit but that link will give you an idea of what callsigns to use for certain aircraft. Cheers, Dan

LOL. Surely the answer to that, Martin, is EVERYTHING!

Closely followed by what have you got?
Pretty much exactly that :D

There's a lot of dead links on there I notice, got the sceneries I wanted no problem. The ai package with the Il-76, L-39 & An-12 looked nice, but that's a dead link.

Re: Dans bits & bobs

So my next project is going to be the Soviet forces based in what was East Germany circa 1987, I've found an order of battle for them, even got some callsigns as well, should be interesting to make. & with pretty much all the models available, Yak 28, Su-17 & il-18 variants aside. There are only 2 t...

Thanks all, got that now

I now need the AN-26SH which I believe was an additional model to be installed in the SBAI-AN26 which I have got. I have textures that reference that model.

Can anyone help please
I have the CIS An-26SH if that's the one you're after?

Re: Panavia Tornado

John - even it is not the real Tornado sound - what about the soundpack that comes with your F-15? That's infernal, two engines and - please correct me if I am wrong - just a copy/paste thing to do. Just a thought.... That's the same one I use, the only issue I have with it is if there are 2 or mor...

Re: Panavia Tornado

There will always be room in my sim for the mighty Tornado, although I am so tempted to switch my setup to retro again. That being said mind I can't be bothered with all the effort that'll have to go with it

Radom 2018

So in my only trip outside of the UK planned for this year I decided to go to Radom in Poland for the 100th anniversary celebrations of the Polish Air Force. So it was a little different in the end, the Poles didn't send an awful lot really to the event, no MiGs or Sukhois as they were grounded, but...

RIAT 2018 Departures

Final photo post from RIAT this year from myself this time covering departures day. It is an incredibly intense & busy period, I'm told it can average an aircraft movement once every 40 seconds or so, this makes it one of the busiest airfields in the world for around 6 hours or so. Pretty much every...

Re: RIAT 2018 show days

Final show day, even better weather this time around & with a couple of departures to Farnborough to boot. I've added a few of the static as well that I didn't get to see arrive like the MQ-9B, made the first ever transatlantic flight by a drone to make it to the show, an RAAF E-7, RAF RC-135W, USAF...

Re: RIAT 2018 show days

Day 2 of 3 from RIAT & this time the weather was back to what it has been all summer here really, plenty of sunshine & big fluffy clouds. This includes a surprise visit & flypast from a USAF B-2 & the RAF BBMF Trenchard plus formation as well as a 617Sqn tribute of the Lancaster, Tornado GR4 & F-35B...

RIAT 2018 show days

For the first time RIAT this year was a 3 full day show of 8 or so hours, also on this day a special RAF tribute was organised, however the great British weather reared it's ugly head & just before the RAF 100 flypast was meant to be forming up a thunderstorm developed over the area, Fairford itself...

Great work as usual Dan. Really nice to be able to scroll through these photos of current and historic aircraft. Where did the Whirlwind come from?

Thanks John, the Whirlwind is owned by Andrew Whitehouse based at Crewkerne in Somerset I believe
