Hey guys, long time no see!
That pic on my rotator is not an F-35, though it's something like a foreign ancestor to it

Re: F-111
Been having a poke about my 111 model lately, and I've reach the point of decision in animating the Pave Tack system. Keeping in mind that this is for AI, and the realism is going to be rather limited, I've come up with two options. First is to try to simulate the Pave Tack being locked onto a targe...

I was planning on painting the two 70th anniversary Hornets this week, but I haven't found the time maybe next week.

Re: C-27 in RAAF trial scheme
The top one looks nice! But I bet if we ever do finally get some, they'll be grey, just like everything else seems to be becoming. Even the old camo C-130Hs are mostly repainted into the new dark grey scheme, along with the Js. :( Although they do have a lighter grey belly with a wavy line between t...

Re: F-111
Steve and Mark have pretty much said it all. The C-17 is much closer to being 100% finished than the F-111, so that's my #1 priority at this time. Once the C-17 finally sees the light of day, there will only be the F-111 for me to work on. No promises though, about either. You'd end up disappointed,...

That's heart-breaking, and completely disgusting!
Pretty much to be expected from this government though.

RAAF Richmond Visitor
Saw C-5B 87-0034 take off from YSRI today, first time I've seen a C-5 in a good few years. Not counting when the C-5M prototype dropped in, I only saw it parked up :| Looks like it must be something to do with US President visit down here soon. Although AFAIK he's not visiting Sydney but Canberra an...

What a day! (RAAF/Omega 707s)
It was announced some months ago that the RAAF's recently retired 707 tankers were being sold to Omega Air Refueling. Since then, work on getting them airworthy has been going on slowly, but now they're finally ready! I visited RAAF Richmond yesterday afternoon, and thought I was in luck because bot...

Re: Photo of first Saudi Arabia Air Force MRTT
This should work: http://www.airliners.net/photo/Saudi-Ar ... 1985022/L/
I assume the lines on the underside are a refuelling aid of some sort, anyone know how they work?
I wonder why this one has them but the RAAF KC-30s only have the centreline yellow line.

Re: FSX Sounds
Yeah the soundai.cfg is a little bit different, I think it only has the external sound sections, but I can't remember exactly. I think I just copied a default soundai.cfg, tweaked it a bit, then used it as a base for each new AI soundset. Then I'd just grab FS9 or FSX UI soundsets, find which wavs I...

Re: FSX Sounds
They use the same format as a UI aircraft, but with a "soundai.cfg" and the .wav files living in the "soundai" folder in the aircraft folder. Or you can set up the AI sound folders somewhere else and alias to them (that's what I did) I dunno if anyone's making AI soundsets though...
Re: Windows 8
That OS in that video looks horrible. No way I could handle having a touch screen like that, unless it had some sort of fingerprint-repelling force-field. I'm reinstalling everything on my desktop machine at the moment, and I put 7 on it. Still not sure about it, still figuring out where everything ...

Re: Exceeded max log in error.
I just got this message too.
I don't think this is an error. A lot of FS sites have come under increased bot/spam attack lately, for some reason.
Just the other week I had the same "maximum login attempts" message at UGA, and AIG had to disable new forum member registration too.

I'd love to get up there to see some arriving, wonder when they'd start to arrive...
Especially a C-5, I can't even remember the last time I saw one flying.

Ahh, excellent pics, thanks Karol! I did find this page which I guess is the one you meant, but it has no images on it for me, anyone else seeing any? The rest of the series works fine (and I have them all saved) I did eventually work out that the things on the side were markings when I found a clos...
