Re: How to do an AI squadron?
The traffic shown above recreates the famous and very enigmatic Flight 19 in which five Avenger airplanes were lost in the Bermuda triangle.
The Grumman TBF-1 Avenger and the five repaints are available here:

Re: How to do an AI squadron?
Really, not easy at all. This AI traffic uses the same aircraft, the same ADE and the same fligthplan for each plane. But after some few feets the formation already is disparated.
It's quite disappointing!

Re: What Global Scenery Do You Use?
Initally, I thought FSGlobal would make a major improvement. But I was very disappointed to realize that this addon mainly causes steep slopes and sharp cliffs. So I went back to Rhumbafloppy's LOD8 world mesh.

Re: AI goes straight (question)
The red hold short node should be between parking and runway link. And you have to delete the one on runway link. Obvisouly you just added an normal blue node.

Your AFD isn't involved, as shown below.
So it could be the helicopter itself. Have you tried at an other airport?

Re: Making heli AFD overlay
For naming additional and overlaying ADE I use following system (more or less ...): AI aircraft remaining static: replacing first letter with 1 (LSZH will be 1SZH) heliports: replacing first letter with 5 (EGLL will be 5GLL) ground traffic: replacing first letter with 8 (EGLL will be 8GLL) seaplane ...

Re: Making heli AFD overlay
While using FS9 I added a lot of classic heli traffic. And ground traffic too. Runways shouldn't be longer than 300 ft. As AFX doesn't allow to get a very small and therefore unvisible width, I modify them to 0.4 ft with the older Afcad tool.

Re: 1990 era SAC Bases (Scenery)
@VulcanDriver Hi John, Several years ago you wrote above, that you "have a Turner AFB scenery converted from FSX to FS9 that looks OK in sim". I'm surprised because afaik this air base has never be done. I only remembered having seen a WIP picture with a Vertol H-21 at former Hovercontrol....

There was this driveable RAF Alvis fire truck at UKMIL which I use as AI ground traffic at Boscombe Down and suitable with classic era.

Years ago I searched for a suitable scenery and got only the same one. Certainly, it isn't the best scenery I have ever seen, but by far not the worst too.

Some years ago I created this FS9 ground traffic with movable vehicles called "Digger".

Re: AI Formations
Have a look at the flightplans for any of our packages that contain airshows or flypasts and you will see how complicated they can be. It needs some time to create such flights and adapt ADE, but not that complicated. https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3815/9647094427_918e886eda_b.jpg https://c2.staticf...
