Re: FSX/P3D RAF Alconbury
Indeed great news! As far I can remember you did also the scenery for FS9 a couple of years ago? Nope, I didn't build the scenery for FS9. Others may have? I stopped building for FS9 a few years ago and this to be honest will be my last for FSX. I will only be designing for P3D V3 on wards going fo...

Re: FSX/P3D RAF Alconbury
As John says it will include a traffic pack featuring both of Johns fantastic AI models of the A-10 and the Tr-1A. The traffic is from 1989 which is line with the Twin Bases AI package. It will be generated to only use RETRO bases (although they may not be in the sim) as well as the usual waypoints ...

Wow!! very nice scenery. Any news about this one? Edwin Hi Edwin The scenery is almost finished. I am just doing the final touches and documentation and it will be released before Christmas. There will be a FSX and a P3D V4 coded version. Cheers Ian PS I will be also releasing a update for L...

Re: A-10 Thunderbolt II
Hello John kindly sent me the FSX coded A-10s to test. Here are a few screens in P3D V4 at Alconbury. They look amazing and hard to believe they are a AI model. The animations look nice too. https://www.mediafire.com/convkey/57a1/p759qfeto0hfb1d4g.jpg https://www.mediafire.com/convkey/8403/tcmaq77ai...

Re: Is there a list of P3D v4 AI military aircarft?
So the new MAIW block 50 F-16's will not work in v4? But the original HTAI F-16's do work? That is surprising, I would of thought it would be the other way around. Could the invisible KC-135 be because of a missing (or a wrong) alpha channel? I know in FS9 when there is a invisible plane I would ad...

FSX/P3D RAF Alconbury
As John has announced his plans to create a FSX coded A-10 model I thought I would share the progress of my Alconbury scenery. In 1988 two of the six 81st TFW A-10 squadrons moved to Alconbury until they were disbanded in 1992. These screens are all in P3D V4. https://www.mediafire.com/convkey/b193/...

Re: Offutt RC-135 Visible until takeoff in P3D
The problem with 3ds MAX is that it costs £1255 ($1581) a year. John That's true , I have a 5 year old version though. You still have use the FSX gamepack like you do with GMAX so the only benefits for me with 3ds MAX is the better tools and ambient occlusion etc. You still have to use MCX to conve...

Re: Offutt RC-135 Visible until takeoff in P3D
So Ian if I'm understanding you correctly, you currently can convert Gmax files via MCX to work with the P3V4 SDK's?? Any idea about FSDS files?? I wouldn't mind having to rename parts and redo animations, it's the bulk modelling that I'm not interested in doing all over again. Mike No you cant loa...

Re: Offutt RC-135 Visible until takeoff in P3D
Ian, do you know how the P3Dv4 SDK enables its native compiler when used with Gmax? Does is install a separate P3Dv4 gamepack as the FSX SDK does? John Hi John Unfortunately the P3D SDK's have never been enabled to work in GMAX only 3ds MAX and maybe other programs. However MCX has already been upd...

Re: Offutt RC-135 Visible until takeoff in P3D
As of yet there is no "Software Developers Kit" for P3D correct?? Without a document or something similar to that, it is all but useless to try to create models for that sim. Mike There is a SDK for every version of P3D that's been released but you only can download if you have purchased ...

Re: Prepar3d v4
As was mentioned above, all AI aircraft regardless of the developer have the afterburner/effect problem in P3D 2.5 onwards. All FSX compiled models work as they would in FSX. For Lakenheath I didn't use the P3D compilers at all otherwise they may not have worked in FSX. I'm sure there will be some b...

Re: Offutt RC-135 Visible until takeoff in P3D
Ian, So can you confirm that in v4 you had no problem with neither the RC-135 nor the A400M? Forget what I said before. The FS9 coded AI models do show up but things like landing gear are missing so it seems they wont work and it crashed the sim. FSX coded models like Johns work fine. One thing I d...

Just to confirm all AI and scenery works fine in V4. Even Fs9 AI models. V4 performs much better though.

Re: Offutt RC-135 Visible until takeoff in P3D
Now there seems to be a large amount of success of people converting FS9 models to FSX in the Alpha India forum and if one of them has the time to talk me through the conversion process then it is possible that an FSX version could be done that will work in P3D. If the rumour of FS9 models not work...

Re: FSW Early Access Shots
Nice to see there is some backward compatibility despite being 64 bit.
Of the three 64 bit sims there will be over the next month (FSW, X Plane 11 and P3D V4) I will be going with P3D V4.
I do know that scenery will be backward compatible.

Re: Offutt RC-135 Visible until takeoff in P3D
The ultimate problem as a modeler becomes this, what platform do you design for?? With three still in use around here, there seems to be no good answer. Modelling for Fs9 like you already do is the answer. FSX models do not work in FS9 and FS9 models work fine in FSX/P3D apart from the odd one whic...
