Just curious if anyone is having problems downloading weather with FS9? I have been trying for several days and keep getting an error message from within the sim. I thought maybe my system got screwed up someway, so did a fresh install of FS9, but still cannot download weather.... If the answer is n...

ADE and FS9
Just out of curiousity.... I notice that some of the MAIW packages have AFX files made with ADE. Can someone enlighten me as to what features of the ADE program are FS9 compatible and which are not? Are there benefits to using this program for some FS9 scenery features vs. ScenGenX and AFCAD? Thanks...

Quick update... The AFCAD for KHOP is proving to be a real pain. The taxiways in the default are in most cases 100+ meters off from their true locations and KHOP has taxiways of varying widths (80ft to 200ft). It is a painstaking process to say the least...which is one more reason that I have come t...

Mike... No, I just installed it. I have tried it in both XP and Vista-64. Both OS are completely up-to-date to include the MSXML4 updates. I also have ScenGenX (Airport) and the FS2004 BGL SDK installed in XP. No problems compiling with them. I am curious if the compile.xml file is causing the probl...

Object Placer 0.84 XML
I downloaded this neat little program from FSDeveloper.com. However, I keep getting an error when trying to compile a file... F:\Program Files\SceneryDesign.org\ObPlacer XML>bglcomp compile.xml INTERNAL COMPILER ERROR C1003: Failed to create MSXML object! (0x80040154) Parsing document: compile.xml E...

Thank you for the replies... Pascul... I would be very grateful for the FSDS files...I don't have that program. I am assuming that I will need to convert them to an MDL? I will PM you with my e-mail address for the file. :) Thanks for the BETA test offers, I will be in touch via PM when the package ...

So far this has been a really fun project for me, and living just a few miles from the base is a plus as well. Will have screenies coming very soon, plus would like to get help via a couple of beta testers as well. Hopefully, AVSIM's library will come back real soon as well so I can wrap this projec...

Question for Nick
Nick, A couple of quick questions for you... 1) I am doing scenery for KHOP (101st Abn and TF 160). How hard would it be for you to modify the chinook you made to represent an MH-47E/G, i.e. re-fuel probe, flir chin pod? 2) Is TF 160 a possible project in the works down the road?...so I don't step o...

To remove the SP2 install go to Windows Update in the Control Panel and select "view installed updates" or something to that effect...(I'm not looking at the screen this second)...You need to remove the one marked KB948465. If you cannot access it via the control panel, there is another wa...

Nice article. I would suspect that at that time (1999) they were involved in supporting TF 160 (The Nightstalkers) and probably 16 SOW. The C-5, if my memory from Strategic Deployment School still serves, can carry up to eight helicopters of the size normally used by TF 160... AH/MH-6, AH/MH-60, etc...

A Great Intel Site
Here is a link for Jim Donnigan's website. He is a civilian defense analyst who has been in "the loop" for years. He always makes some pretty sound arguments and analysis of all things military....well worth a look and is updated daily.
