Do you mean the visibilty part or the light name? Can you have two lights called the same name?

I thought of that and amended it to '*' first. Will try that xml check now.

Re: MAIW_WSMG F-16's

OK tried that new code and unfortunately it didn't change anything. I even renamed the part to the default light_landing_vis to see if it would override it. Still no good. Whilst the purist in me would like to solve this, the pragmatist says that the model converts and if the only issue is two small...

Re: MAIW_WSMG F-16's

OK they switch off at exactly 10000 AGL. So that would seem to indicate that they are working correctly.

Are you aware of anything we can do to alter that default behaviour?

I can try a test flight to see. At the moment I just use circuits.

Re: MAIW_WSMG F-16's

Hi Firebird, accidently hit 'Report' on the "visibility post" by mistake, have contacted mods to fix. Sorry! Heres the full XML for the landing lights in P3D... <PartInfo> <Name>light_landing_vis_AND_gear_down</Name> <Visibility> <Parameter> <Code> (A:GEAR CENTER POSITION,percent) 90 &...

Re: MAIW_WSMG F-16's

It is weird and I have tried everything I can think of to get around this. The fact that the taxy lights work as intended makes me wonder whether I have hit a bug in MCX. In the original Conversions the taxy lights were AttachedLights, as the original, but I found that there is a config file for lig...

Re: KRAI F-15 Issue

If the issue is only with the C model then compare the .cfg with the D model. When that happens the problem is that something has amended the .cfg file and put the balance of the aircraft out of wack. If the worst comes to the worst download the C model again and copy everything from the fresh cfg B...

Re: Thoughts on the next project

The Embraers will be very welcome addition. Of course you do bring up one thing that I had forgotten about. The Gripen E/Fs. I know that they are very slightly longer but I don't know how else they differ from the C/D in appearance. Maybe Kev will be inclined to do these two versions for his collect...

Re: MAIW_WSMG F-16's

Well I have done all sorts of manipulation but I can't get the points of light for the landing lights to disappear. Very frustrating. I managed to alter the type for the landing lights to the same as the taxy lights but it makes no difference. The taxy lights disappear completely but the landing lig...

Re: MAIW_WSMG F-16's

Kev, I think I have made some progress on the lights but to find out whether it is true or not i need the xml def that you set up, custom_vis_GEAR_CENTER_POSITION_07.mcx . This is the visibility condition that you have assigned to the landing lights. The taxy lights work fine but the landing lights ...

John Young wrote: 25 Jan 2024, 09:44 Steve, you can use "c_gearlight" for the landing light part name in FS9. It will switch off as the gear retracts.

John

Many thanks for that tip, John.

Re: MAIW_WSMG F-16's

Kev, I will have a look at what can be done with door. I didn't even know that you can import and export parts from MCX. The one thing I would like to check with you is that the lights are attached to either the noseleg door or the main gear, according to version, and so the lights are hard-coded. S...

Re: MAIW_WSMG F-16's

I saw that as well but I have no knowledge of whether that is standard for that sqn or not. There is another odd one for the Test unit that has a red centre line tank. UPDATE Just looked up the unit on Wikipedia and it is not an operational sqn, it is the Aggressor sqn, so this might explain the dif...

Re: MAIW_WSMG F-16's

OK working on the 52s I have found an issue on them and it is on the 30s as well. As Kev said earlier it is to do with the lights. The lights on the undercarriage stay on even when the gear is up. The lights themselves are small and so I missed them on the 30s but on the 52s they have two lights sid...

Re: MAIW_WSMG F-16's

I did check out what you were talking about but there is obviously something different about the mdl structure after conversion as even though I made the texture setup identi...

Re: MAIW_WSMG F-16's

OK, I have converted all 9x Block 30 Baraks. The only outstanding issue that I think we have is the alpha for the lightmap making things transparent that shouldn't be. I have also Firebirdized the flightplans to make them as user friendly for users as possible. Please replace with the originals if y...

Re: MAIW_WSMG F-16's

Just realised that the crew are also invisible. I am wondering if it is to do with FS9 handling alphas in a different way to FSX. What makes me think this is that comparing the alpha it seems that the tail cutoff on the port side is due to its proximity on the sheet to the cockpit consoles. Also the...
