Avionics plays a huge part in who is successful in a dogfight. The other part is the pilot, circumstances, etc. I would not read much into all of that. An F-15 vs 2 F-5s in a knife fight would certainly be a difficult matchup. An F-15 shooting off his Aim-120s or sparrows before coming into sidewind...
