Re: Augusta Wesland AW139
That’s about it for the modelling and painting. The amount of variation over the Japanese and Italian subjects has been quite significant, such that I’ve ended up with 16 models. That’s not a bad thing because it gives re-painters plenty of scope to work with. These are the latest models/paints: One...

Re: Augusta Wesland AW139
I tried Pete's files that had been regenerated with ADE and work fine for him, but still the polygons disappear after slewing away half a mile or so. I even disabled all the rest of my Japanese scenery just in case something was influencing the situation, but no change. The only thing I can think of...

Re: Augusta Wesland AW139
I've just tried moving the scenery area from position 9 to the very top of the list to coincide with Greg's test. I then tried a couple of heliports, but still the polygons disappeared at quite a close range. That included RHAK that has a CVX file. Brent, no rush, I still have a bit to do yet on the...

Re: Augusta Wesland AW139
Thanks Greg, that would be very useful. I'm sure Brent won't mind if I direct you to his FSP folder where you will find his original archive called "Kawasaki Emergency Services 1.5".zip. It contains both FS9 and FSX versions of the 9 heliports.

Re: Augusta Wesland AW139
I tried removing the VTP files this morning, but the polygons still disappear There is something different about these heliports. Normally, Brent's FSX AFCADs usually work fine in P3Dv4. I also re-tested Niigata, a full blown scenery that accommodates AW139s and there's no problem there. Is it the f...

Re: Augusta Wesland AW139
Just checked Brent's AFCADs with AFX Gavin and they are in FSX format with the "Draw Surface" and "Draw detailed textures" boxes checked for each polygon. Is there something more than needs to be done?

Re: Augusta Wesland AW139
No problem Giorgio. I'll check all your FS9 sceneries for FSX and P3D and provide the fixes if I can. I've just spent a couple of hours having fun checking Brent's 9 Japanese heliports to the same end in all 3 sim versions. The only problem I've found is that with the FSX versions used in P3Dv4, the...

I would try those a little greener Manfred. That might give a better match to ORBX and the default autogen trees.

That's coming on extremely well Manfred. Well done.
Just a question about your custom trees - you seem to have fall textures applied, when the surrounding ones look like summer or spring?

Re: New AIDC AT-3
Very nice indeed, particularly for a "first project". I love the screen shots in the link that Martin provided in the first post of this thread. You have achieved something that is often difficult to master - a good texture depth and control of the smoothing groups to give a lovely finish ...

Re: Tornado for P3D V4
I can't let Manfred beaver away in the fine detail he is working with for Brüggen without having the proper AI to go with it. I'll take on the Tornado for FSX/P3Dv4 as soon as I've finished the AW139's.

Re: Augusta Wesland AW139
It would need a separate model with a completely different winch on the right side. I'd consider it if you were able to provide the scenery and flight plans.

Re: Augusta Wesland AW139
That sound good Mins. I’ll need to look at the configurations of those ROK users in case none of the 10 models I’ve produced so far are suitable, but the illustration you posted looks fine, at least for the Coast Guard variant that looks similar to the Japanese aircraft in that role. The time consum...

Re: landing/taxi lights
Sorry Andreas, should have mentioned that. You are quite right. You need to copy the landing light material and re-name it LIGHT_TAXI.

Andras, the method described above creates light cones in both FS9 and FSX/P3D.

Re: landing/taxi lights
Andras, the process is different for FS9 and FSX/P3D. In FS9, you can't attach effect files, but you can attach light materials. In FSX/P3D you can attach effects. Also, in FS9, there is a stock part called "c_gearlight", that will switch off the landing light when the gear retracts. In FS...

Re: Augusta Wesland AW139
Let me park the possibility of a 189 while I get on with the Italian 139's. I'll see how things are after that and what else could usefully be done. As I said earlier, we really need scenery and flight plans for what are often dispersed sites, to go with the AI. Just producing paints on their own, d...

Re: Augusta Wesland AW139
I might, if I knew what they were. I was thinking of HM Coast Guard. I think they have a mix of AW139's and the larger AW189's - 10 in total, but with a migration from the 139 to the 189. I'm not intending to make the 189 because it needs additional windows and a major re-build. The aircraft are dis...
