Re: Panavia Tornado

I want to ask if you can tell what differences are between the Dale s Dahran Scenery for FS9 compared to P3Dv4 scenery. I mean are therr missing buildings ect? The FS9 version won't work in P3Dv4. The differences are that the FS9 scenery is a more complete scenery but will have a bigger hit on perf...

Re: Panavia Tornado

I did make scenery for Dhahran a few years ago when I first started modelling and texturing. At the time I was happy with it but I've learnt a lot since then and the newer version has a lot better texturing, modelling and performance. That said they are for different platforms. The old FS9 scenery s...

Re: Panavia Tornado

John kindly let me paint up the Saudi aircraft which I think have the best camo scheme for the Tornado. So far I have flight planned one of the three squadrons so two to go. I plan to have them go off on exercises to Coningsby, Al Dhafra and other locations just like in the real world. The Saudi's h...

Re: Panavia Tornado

Absolutely fantastic John, for me this is hands down my favourite project of yours. Special place in my heart the Tonka, first aircraft I worked on so I love that you're bringing this aircraft to life. Very much appreciated.

Re: Conversion help.

Once you have converted the texture to.dds you will have two texture files in the whichever scenery folder you have the object. Ensure the .dds file is the only one there otherwise you get black objects. It's the same with the aircraft when painting them.

Re: Panavia Tornado

They look absolutely beautiful John. Really top draw work there! Also really glad that you have made the A too. You are correct about the air brakes on landing. With having the buckets the thrust would be directly onto the air brakes causing structural stress/damage.

Re: Panavia Tornado

Kulbit, The RAF never really used the Alarm on the wing pylons, the images you have shown were most likely taken to show the capability of the aircraft should they need it. Alarms were mainly loaded to the fuselage pylons. For the storm shadow again the first picture is to demonstrate that the aircr...

Re: Panavia Tornado

John the Saudi (like most nations) only strap weapons to the aircraft when they are training on the range or on Ops. The standard fit for usual training sorties is pretty much the same as the RAF. Usually either big or small tanks with either the sky shadow on one wing and the BOZ on the other wing ...

Re: Panavia Tornado

At the end of the day whatever models John produces will be awesome. The tornado could carry so much that I am sure the number of models would be astronomical. I'm just happy that John decided this as his next project, very welcome addition and I can't wait.
