Re: MAIW MBAI Sikorsky CH-53 Sea Stallion Family Conversion Support
Just noticed some weird behaviour of the german CH-53 Stallions, making a "Jumping Jack Flash" at Gütersloh: 1. Straight from the ground: https://abload.de/thumb/jumping_ch-53_1ctjcy.jpg 2. Then a quick jump within a circle: https://abload.de/thumb/jumping_ch-53_2xmjg8.jpg 3. Afterwards a ...

Re: RAF Lakenheath for MSFS2020
I think the way I design my trees is no more state of the art - using simple crossed vertical planes will not do the trick anymore.
But I think I can come to terms with the default MSFS trees...

Re: RAF Lakenheath for MSFS2020
Thank you very much for reply. Ian, you say "type". As around Brüggen, I may remember there are also pines around Lakenheath. Does MSFS really generate the european pine type like in reality? I don't think so. But the screens look stunning!

Re: RAF Lakenheath for MSFS2020
Wow !!!
Another reason for me to change to MSFS as soon as all my favorite aircraft will appear in this sim as well.
Ian, do you use custom trees on the airbase or the MSFS default one? They look a little like default...

You're right, Martin - I am convinced that MSFS will not be developed to my satisfaction until RAF Gütersloh will be finished...
But it won't do any harm to maybe learning about some skills to be ready for it....

Re: RAF Coningsby for MSFS2020
Thanks a lot, Ian.
So I am truly interested in how to get my RAF Brüggen scenery into MSFS - this will be a real improvement and I am looking very forward to it. Only headache is the amount of Mirosoft Upgrades within a short time and my doubt in a reliable working MSFS....
We'll see...

Re: RAF Coningsby for MSFS2020
@ Ian: Did you change anything complex regarding your models and textures to make them look so extremly real?
Or does the MSFS engine render this colours and shadows automatically?
This appearance is unbelievable.

Re: RAF Coningsby for MSFS2020
As Pete said, I think one of the master problems will be the terrain.
Guys, as soon as you are able to bring back (military) live into MSFS, I will buy this sim and only because of this!
Ian, how did you manage the curved runways, please? This is outstanding work, the shots are stunning!

Re: RAF Brüggen - Converting to FSX...
Okay, currently I make some good advance. Buildings appear like they should and I get my first groundpolys into FSX. There is still a lot of work to do because a lot of groundpolys are still missing and night lighting also. Several effects have to be attached etc etc. But some parts already are clos...

RAF Brüggen - Converting to FSX...
Hi, today I started with the converting of RAF Brüggen for FSX. Seems to be a lot of work, because many objects actually were built for P3Dv4.5. But on the other hand, several objects already appear well against expectation. https://abload.de/thumb/etur_nw_2d7jaj.jpg https://abload.de/thumb/etur_nw_...

Re: One issue follows the other: Materials missing in Gmax...
John, just resolved it!!!!! I had to rename ALL paths inside the config - on the very end, I finally got success: The final line is "Startup Scripts" which I had to guid Gmax to. Inside "MAXScript" > "configure paths" > "General" all entries led to the main gm...

Re: One issue follows the other: Materials missing in Gmax...
This would mean to rework a lot of materials.

Re: One issue follows the other: Materials missing in Gmax...
Hi, I also ask over there at FSDeveloper, but I know that you are working almost daily with Gmax. I trust more in your experiences as in others. Meanwhile, I did a complete new installation (yap, it IS a pain to get back all paths...) but now it works....up to my issues as above. No step further. Th...

Re: One issue follows the other: Materials missing in Gmax...
Thank you for response, John. No, I can't find this option actually. Inside my material editor I only can change between "new" and "pick". I found another of other issues meanwhile, please have a look at the attached shots: This is what open up when I try to run the FSTools scrip...
