Re: MA ANG F-15C's Over Vermont
Steve, Your memory was correct. I just watched a YouTube video clip of Fail Safe and the interceptors were indeed F-102A Deuces. :smt023 Unfortunately the very short clip that showed them supposedly lighting their burners actually showed three line abreast Deuces each simultaneously firing an AIM-4 ...

Re: MA ANG F-15C's Over Vermont
Definitely of that time period but I was thinking about when the President ordered the F-102s(I think) to afterburner to try and catch the bombers until they ran out out of fuel and crashed into the Arctic. That was what immediately came to mind. It really is a good film and I recommend people give...

Re: MA ANG F-15C's Over Vermont
I always like seeing these formation screenshots. And where did you get these paints? The only JYAI F-15's I have in my P3D is Lakenheath and Mountain Home (although Mountain Home is a bit out of date). The MA ANG F-15C textures are from a private collection and I don't know if they will ever be re...

Re: 4 B-58A's from the Movie Fail Safe?
Great view! I know that this differs for everybody, but having no retro would reduce my fun at all this considerably. Thanks Martin, I couldn't agree more. :smt023 Of course I'm kind of retro myself and can actually remember when many of the so called retro aircraft were still flying. How do ...

4 B-58A's from the Movie Fail Safe?
These screenshots were inspired by a comment from Firebird in my MA ANGJYAI F-15C screenshot post. 4 USAF JYAI B-58A's from Carswell AFB ca.1962 in P3D v4.1 http://www.fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2018/03/11/4_B-58As-1.jpg http://www.fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2018/03/11/4_B-58As-2.j...

Re: MA ANG F-15C's Over Vermont
How did you get them to fly in formation? Excellent work! Reggie Reggie, It was accomplished using four virtual way points appropriately located and spaced apart from which the four JYAI F-15C's could spawn from and fly towards my location at Burlington IAP (KBTV). After a while in this particular ...

MA ANG F-15C's Over Vermont
These screenshots of John Young's MA ANG JYAI F-15C's were taken in P3D v4.1 flying over Lake Champlain and the Lake Champlain Valley of Vermont. The afterburner is my personal P3D v4.1 modification of Steve Holland's FS9 afterburner effect file, which I was testing when I took these screenshots. MA...

Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)
Mike, get this one: https://militaryaiworks.com/download-hangar/file-library/category/96-official-maiw-conversion-packages F-16's world wide in one package. But they use the old "nuclear" AB, so this I did replace. Thanks Foxbat, I just downloaded that package and as far as I can tell it ...

Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)
Thx Mike, good answer, fully understood. I use the HTAI air file and cfg updated for FSX, from this forum. And to be honest, I'm like *very* tired of trying to fix effects myself, so the ball is yours. Not mine. I LIKE it that way  I feel your pain Foxbat. I'm pretty tired of working with ...

Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)
Mike, I edited the lifetimes in your effect from 40, 40 and 50, 50 to 60, 60 and 70, 70. Now the HTAI F-16 is perfect, effect coming on at the right time, and burning properly in the climb for a while. May I upload this effect with my planned HTAI RNoAF F-16 repaints/flightplans package? I will giv...

Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)
Andrew, all my P3Dv4 F-35A's now have an inbuilt afterburner that does not require an entry in the aircraft.cfg file. The ignition and lifetime timings are no longer controlled by the values in the effect file, but by an afterburner xml trigger. That means the burner lights when the aircraft is lin...

Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)
Mike, Tried your new AB effect on the RNoAF F-35A by just modifying the F-15 effect line in the aircraft.cfg. Great stuff! I then copy-pasted the content to the F-16 effect, but AB goes off just after liftoff. Any ideas? (Don't bother if you don't want to) 8) Foxbat, Thanks for your positive commen...

Re: Problem compiling Johns Lightning with TT
Hi all, maybe I'm missing something obvious, but I get the following error when compiling files as the title seems to be too long. Andy, That TTools entry is for a registration number, not an aircraft title. I usually simply use a single digit number identical to the aircraft id number located wher...

Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)
It might then be something to do with my system then, although I had the same problem with v4.1. One question do either of you have the same sort of problems described above with the converted OSP ATR's After much fiddling with parameters I have now got the F53C(Land) to taxi much better. will post...

Re: minimum height in a flight plan
Can someone tell me what is the lowest altitude AI traffic can fly at. I want to have a helicopter flying at 500ft VFR. If I put in 50 in the FP it becomes 5000ft, I put in 0005 and flies at 1500ft. TIA John, I have successfully flight planned VFR flybys of aircraft carriers at 200 feet above the w...
