Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)
Guys, Pete's experience is also inconsistent with my experience in P3D v4.1 as I have not seen any significant deviation from the taxiway center lines by the JYAI F-35C's in any of my 100's of afterburner tests performed primarily at Burlington IAP, but also at Eglin AFB. The only time the delay tim...

Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)
I've been working to minimize as much as possible the undesirable effects of P3D v3.4/4's dynamic dimensional scaling of all light effects including light based afterburner and smoke effects for the past few weeks. If you are not familiar with this issue, in P3D v3.4/4 FS9 light effects are basicall...

Where can I find functioning traffic files for RAF Upper Heyford? I have installed all packages i could fing in the download hangar but can't get AI traffic to appear... same goes for the twin bases and RAF Alconbury... I am still operating P3D v3 If you haven't converted all the FS9 traffic files ...

Re: F/A-18E/F/G Super Hornet will be equiped with CFT
With the coming of the Block III Standard, the Super Hornet E/F and the Growler G models will received CFT. http://www.defens-aero.com/2018/02/us-navy-equiper-fa18ef-super-hornet-reservoirs-conformes.html http://img.over-blog-kiwi.com/0/64/42/44/20180221/ob_2cdde7_msf13-0082-071.jpg I hope Nick Bla...

Re: AiFP and Ship Traffic
Hey guys, does anybody have any recommendations for editing ship traffic files? I tried to open a ship Traffic.bgl with Aifp, but it did not populate any data in the config screens. Am I missing something, or is Aifp for aircraft only? Is there a similar program for Surface vessels? -Woog Woog, I b...

Re: Help finding a waypoint bgl file
I have used virtual waypoints almost exclusively for about the last 5 years or so and if you don't ever watch FS9 AI aircraft in flight from takeoff to a waypoint(s) and on to landing at their destination airport using Traffic View Board they work fine. I'm using P3D v3.4 and 4.1 almost exclusively ...

Re: Windows Update
Thanks Mike. I certainly have 20 or so Office 2010 updates notified. Just wish I could download them and install them automatically. John John, On my relatively old laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit, I have intermittently experienced very long update download and install times to the point ...

Re: Windows Update
John, We have 3 PC's and a Laptop on our home network running Windows 7, 2 with W7 Pro and 2 with W7 Home. The Windows Time service on all 4 has Status: Blank, Startup Type: Manual and Log on As: Local Service. All 4 are setup to notify us when updates are available and let us choose which ones to d...

Re: P3d4.1 Ready Hornets?
Mike, any chance you could elaborate on those afterburner modifications? Greg, The two problems I found in P3D v3.4 and 4.1 were the burner flame cone was approximately half the diameter that it should have been and the diameter of burner rings inside the burner can expanded in diameter about 2X cr...

Re: P3d4.1 Ready Hornets?
Of Note: I did try to recompile the NBAI Super Hornets for Lemoore for my own personal pleasure with less than stellar results. All moving surfaces flipped around, animations not working, Opaque canopies etc. -Woog Woog, The NBAI Super Hornets work fine in P3D v3.4 except for the afterburner effect...

Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)
I hadn't thought of placing the nodes by copying and pasting the centre coordinates Mike, so I just tried it. It took 48 seconds that way for a single node, compared to 8 seconds moving by hand. That's fine for a carrier deck, but for 200 spots on an airfield, probably better for me by hand. John J...

Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)
This worked perfectly, it resulted in perfect forward departures from parking spots and there were no deep breaths required whatsoever. John, It seems that I misspoke slightly when I posted the above statement in my previous post. In closer observation while testing my workaround for the minor cosm...

Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)
I'm delighted to see that you have got your JYAI F35C carrier operations working well now John. :smt023 I've been upgrading and optimizing the scenery and ADE files for my personal local airport containing the VT ANG airbase to use in P3D v3.4 and 4.1 and of course that included optimizing the locat...

Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)
I have 7 F-35C's on the deck Mike. Pushback is not a problem in FSX or P3Dv4 with blue nodes placed on the outbound links of the AFCAD and dragged back to the centre of each spot. Looks like you are making great progress John. :D I use the anti push back node technique in all my drive thru parking ...

Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)
I'll show you tomorrow, once I've done the juggling act and populated the deck without conflict and I've added a wake and bow spray. John John, I'll be interested in seeing how effectively you can apply the FSX/P3D push back work around in the limited space on the carrier deck. I had a very difficu...

Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)
Solved it Mike. I came to the same conclusion by trial and error. Rather than have the flatten in a separate scenery area with a higher priority in the library, I put it in the same folder as the carrier object and AFCAD. Hey presto -mound gone, carrier floating nicely and one F-35C operating from ...

Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)
I'm tearing my hair out at the moment Joe. It's even more frustrating knowing that I've done it twice before with other carriers and I have the files as a reference. I'm going to try making the files with AFCAD rather than AFX in case that makes a difference. John John, I think the problem is with ...

Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)
Nicely done John. It was a bit of a circuitous route to get there, but it looks like you finally got something you can use. :smt023 I never even thought of doing that. You probably know this, but what I always did in FS9 using AFCAD2 was determine the carrier deck elevation above sea level, c...
