Re: Request - New Belgian Air Force Airbus A330-322 (PW Engine)

The A330 is on lease until we find a permanent replacement for both A310's. The A310's will be phased out as we were having too many technical problems lately and there's a lack of spare parts on the market. CA-01 is still flying until the end of 2010, CA-02 has been grounded and will probably be ca...

Re: Patrouille Suisse

Use whatever you fancy mate. I was only saying that SUI is the official ICAO code, I don't think you can get it any more standard

SAF is the ICAO code of the Singapore Air Force by the way.

Re: Patrouille Suisse

I guided some Swiss guys into Kleine Brogel a coulpe of weeks ago.

ICAO code was SUI. Callsign "Swiss Air Force".

Hope this helps.

Re: Ai Photos

James. 1. Look at where I'm from, look at my job, and look at my function here at MAIW. Now combine the three elements. Are they still Spanish? 2. Formation take-off and landing is not that hard to do but involves overlay AFD's with "invisible" runways put on top of the normal runwa...

Haha I like that!

Can we make that an official oath everyone has to take before subscribing to the forums?

The Belgian Herky formation on the front page is, by the way, an actual AI shot. As Mike said, it can take some time before you get the shot you want though.

Re: Government VIP to Washington DC, which airport?

"Mountain Roundup" is the final stage in the training program of German instructor pilots and weapons system officers. Every year they send a couple of Tornadoes and crew from Holloman to Mountain Home for the exercise. Edit: Yep Mountain Roundup was on. Here 's a link with more info. Greg

Re: UK specific airspace modification

Okay I get the point I think. Thanks for the insight Dan, very interesting! Maybe i.s.o. creating "null" AFCADs to make a LARS type airspace, one could expand the influence area of an aerodrome's approach by making boundary areas with the "APPROACH" tag i.s.o. "CENTER"?...

Re: UK specific airspace modification

I noticed that the stock FIR sub-regions are defined such that they do not geographically overlap, with maybe a dozen or so yards of unassigned space seperating them. Yes there's a warning for overlapping boundary areas in the FS9 bglcomp readme. This makes stuff a bit more complicated. I wonder wh...

Re: UK specific airspace modification

Alrighty thanks for the info. Sounds fun! Well of course I meant the subdivision of the airspace and the respective sector at Brussels, Maastricht or Belga Radar, but I know where to find the right co-ordinates  Once I've figured out how to do it I'll have a look at the naming and priority thi...

Re: UK specific airspace modification

Any chance you could tell us how you managed to do this? I am a military area controller in Belgium in real life, and I really really hate how the Brussels FIR/UIR is subdivided in FS9. I'd love to learn how to make a file like yours for Belgium as all the relevant airspace knowledge is in my head a...
