Re: Something big is coming
The website is live: https://flightsimassociation.com. It's apparently a $30 per year sub to get access to discounts, webinars and guides. I think if you buy a lot of addons from let's say ORBX, the discounts alone will quickly pay back those 30 bucks but other than that I haven't explored it enough...

Re: Brian Clarke's Scenries
Yes indeed John, your first assumption is correct. Nothing prevents scenery designers from pointing to objects from the libraries in the Matrix regions. That is simply not feasible or we would have to geolock every library indeed. But like I said, nor did John Stinstrom prevent it back in the FS9 da...

Re: Brian Clarke's Scenries
A big package with "regional" libraries won't be possible. Unfortunately, not everyone in this hobby is as open minded and especially in our early days, devs were very protective about their work. Very few scenery object designers gave us carte blanche to do with their libraries as we saw ...

Project abandoned (for now)
Dear MAIW fans, It is with a heavy hearth that had to take the decision to abandon Matrix, both the current version and the development of Matrix2. My personal and professional lives have changed drastically in the past six months and are about to change even more. I need all my free time to devote ...

After you did what Steve said, don't forget to say "Yes" when P3D asks you if want to enable the addon(s). An example is shown on page 5 of the Matrix manual.

Re: "Something went wrong while updating Global Libraries"
Ah well you're now getting a different exception. This means that the error with CDN access is solved. It looks like you're installing the traffic in a subfolder of C:\Program Files (x86) but that you also have User Access Control enabled that prevents this. The solution is to go to the settings pag...

Re: "Something went wrong while updating Global Libraries"
Please try again, José. It will most probably still throw the same error but I enabled some extra logging on our CDN to see why you're the only one getting 403 responses.

Re: "Something went wrong while updating Global Libraries"
Indeed, unless you're running Matrix with administrator rights or have UAC turned off in Windows, don't install your traffic in the Program Files folder. Go to the settings tab and change the folder. C:\ should work (or any other drive).

Re: A brand new MS Flight Simulator is coming...
It's not something in phpBB. It's an extra Web Application Filter layer on server level. Not every server has this enabled and I guess many admins will simply disable it to avoid the hassle. However, we've been hacked successfully twice in our early existence (some of the older users may still remem...

Re: A brand new MS Flight Simulator is coming...
Never use single quotation marks together with punctuation marks in a text input field on an website. It could be considered as an SQL injection attack. In this specific case, it was a single quotation mark followed by an exclamation mark followed by the capital letter F. [Wed Dec 16 21:01:16.257720...

Hi José.
Thanks for contacting us. It looks like our CDN is throwing an access error for your download request but I'll need to dig a bit deeper to learn why.
I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Re: Eurofighter Typhoon
Is the ICAO code for Royal Saudi Air Force =RSF ? And is it realistic to use the callsign ASRAF for the Typhoons? The 3-letter designator (ICAO Doc 8585) is indeed RSF. The call sign is not "ASRAF" but "ARSAF". Typically, these call signs are used for flights on an international...

Re: A brand new MS Flight Simulator is coming...
Asobo have released a development timeline, showing roughly when they expect to introduce new features or address identified problems. AI is pretty much at the bottom of the list, with no defined year (years are all they give!) for attention. The list covers up to 2023 so far, so we can safely say ...

Re: TFS A310-300
Ray, it sounds like you're using the PBR models but didn't make a reference to the metallic texture. P3D needs this texture to calculate the correct reflections. The included _Readme.txt file says: "Install the texture subfolder to your TFS Airbus A310-300 folder, and copy the provided texture....

Re: Scale and Pitch
I find that often these little scenery projects you do for yourself can be more satisfying than buying a fancy expensive airport scenery. And the best part is when you forget about placing some objects left or right and then later discover them by accident during a flight. Not that I have time now f...
