Nimrod R1 model test in P3Dv5.1. In the early days they were based at RAF Wyton and looked much cleaner with only a fraction of the antennas which they carried at the end of their service life.

John, thanks for your valuable advice. I hesitated between two 1024x sheets and a single 2048x sheet. I use mipmapped DXT1 format so the size is much less than DXT5. I just tried a 1024x downsized texture and to my surprise it does not look too bad compared with the 2048x version. Looks like I will ...

It is a lot of work to get the master texture file right but I am getting there I think (textures will be 2048 pix).

Jim, in the screenshot you see a mix of parts for early/late models, I have made 2 sets of wings (podded / non-podded), I will make sure the release models will have the correct configurations.

Emile, I just checked the MAIW FSX/P3D BAe Hawk family conversion package and the titles from your content error report DO NOT EXIST in our Aircraft.cfg. I see 2 possible reasons for your issue: 1. If no one has any objections I want to build an FSX/P3D Nimrod package from scratch. My Blender & painting skills are good enough by now to do my 1st AI model. I expect to finish the century series fighters conversions before the end of January, after that I can start with the Nimrod.

I am surprised there is demand for these rare models in FSX/P3D. Fortunately they do not have dozens of model variants so I added the Dagger and Dart to my to do list on Trello. No ETA yet, I hope to do them within the next 3 months.

Michael, I am willing to take a look at your FS9 AI Transall to see if I can convert it for FSX/P3D - can you share the files? Most important I guess is that your AI model has a single or no more than 2 texture sheets.

I would not be concerned about the selective afterburners. For the FSX/P3D NBAI conversion I have attached smoke and burners to the model and after 2 years / 2,250+ downloads nobody has questioned this sofar. Edwin, good scenery objects have the lowest possible amount of vertices/drawcalls and Sketchup does not help to achieve that. Tools like Blender and GMax are much better to create good scenery objects. Maybe you can try to import them in MCX and run the drawcall optimizer tool. But that still leaves...

If you want to use custom airfields on top of Orbx Germany make sure you disable the Orbx afcad/objects BGL files.
