Re: HTAI F-16 FSX Beta and question
Ignore my comment about nose wheel steering - it works on your F-16 model.

(...) Also there are some funky things like if you first view the model and it is airborne you will see the canopy close. (...) A couple of observations: Your canopy animation is reversed, at keyframe 0 it is open, closed at 100. If the animation would start closed at zero and is fully open at 100 ...

Re: Prepar3d v4
Reggie, the FSX voice file(s) are in the \Sound\ATC folder, in P3Dv4, this is the same.
The stock FSX voice file is named USEnglishBig.evp, my EditVoicePack modded file has a different name: EvpAccelerated2.gvp.
Henk.

Re: Prepar3d v4
Reggie, wrt the voice file: I copied my FSX voicepack mod (EvpAccelerated2.gvp) from FSX to P3Dv4 and it works. Make sure you block out the stock P3Dv4 voice file, I renamed it to USEnglishBig.gvp.BAK. Apparently LM did not change the voice file, the P3Dv4 stock voice file is exactly the same as the...

Re: Prepar3d v4
The C-17 is not compatible with P3Dv4 because it is a legacy FS9 format model. The only way to make it work is to convert the model to native FSX or P3D format.

Re: Prepar3d v4
John, in P3Dv4 the burner disks get too big as viewing distance increases or when zooming out. The flame X/Y scale is cut in half. The sleeping state looks OK, Nav lights are not coming on before pre-taxi. I watched an F-15C 5 minutes before ETD: All lights are off, ground eqt visible, canopy open, ...

Re: Prepar3d v4
I converted all my favorite FS9 AI military aircraft to native FSX format, e.g. FMAI Mirage 2K's, Transall and Tornados, NBAI F-4's and Mirage F1, RWAI A-10, MGAI KC-135, JMAI B-52, JBAI A-7. I never published them so I did not ask the original authors for permission. I also did not convert every FS...

Re: B-58 Hustler
Anyone know of a flyable B-58 for FS9?? The Glowing Heat FS9 B-58 is still available at PCAviator and PCAviator Australia (this is the former Alphasim model, published in 2006, created by Dave Bushell) : http://www.pcaviator.com/store/product.php?productid=19323&cat=0&page=1 http://www.pcav...

Thanks Martin! I went through all my AI traffic folders and the program found at least a dozen inconsistencies which could be fixed easily thanks to the clear feedback from the program.

Re: Looking for a flyable Tornado
LAGO did a very nice FS9 Tornado in 2003, not sure if it is still available on the market. The LAGO model looks much better than the IRIS or AFS offerings but the AFS one is newer and probably has more bells and whistles.

Re: RAF C17
A couple of years ago when I used to hang around at UKMIL, I made some paints for Brize C-17s plus a simple set of FSX and FS9 flight plans. It is for the MAIW PAI C-17 AI model, they will move between Brize and other RAF stations in the UK:

If you are looking for AI models, paints, scenery or traffic, always go to the Owls Nest Military AI Reference - aircraft, repaints & flight plans database: http://www.owlsnest.eu/aiaircraft.php A search on "lakenheath" produced several packages, I would recommend jyai_f-15s_fsx_lakenh...

Re: RAF Lakenheath for FSX/P3D
A big thanks to Ian and all others who created RAF Lakenheath v2!
Installation was quick and simple, John's F-15's immediately felt at home at this new scenery, framerates in FSX-SE are good.

Just took a look at the UKMIL AI Jag, I would not use it. The MDL is FS9, uses 43 draw calls and does not look as good as Nick Blacks Jag.

Steve, thanks for the interesting story about the RWR mod. Meanwhile I found FS9 AI Phantom models with the early tail. The package by Michael Pearson is available here on MAIW: http://www.militaryaiworks.com/download-hangar/file-library/download/7-aircraft-models/895-ai-mcdonnell-douglas-f-4m-fgr-2...
