Hi Nick, Thank you for sharing what are very personal feelings regarding your decision to leave the Royal Air Force; the decision you came to I'm sure must have been quite difficult but nonetheless, you are becoming a part of something much more meaningful and much more fulfilling and much, much mor...

1987! I'm amazed they were still using that scheme. I was thinking of 1968 IIRC! I think they replaced the RF-101s. Yep tis true, they did - albeit with lo-viz national markings, just to spoil things  http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1092536/L/ BTW the Michigan ANG F-4C behind was actually ...

Incidentally, I only ever saw USAF F-4's in the UK in the SEA schemes you painted. The RF-4Cs wore the grey / white scheme when they first arrived but got painted in SEA later. Presumably for service in Nam. John I remember seeing a 26th TRW RF-4C at the Mildenhall Air Fete in 1987 in this scheme, ...

OK - here are my first attempts; a bit of hotch-potch pick 'n' mix bunch. I have only done one machine from each unit depicted here, but if anyone seriously wants a whole squadron worth, please PM me then I will do them but there will be no guarantees that I will be able to all of what is needed - r...

But meanwhile......the first "proper" repaints (the 29 sqn one was just a muck-a-bout) have been finished....these are work-in-progress so will not be released until all have been done, hopefully over this weekend, but no promises!!

In the UK, you can get fined for looking at documents whilst driving - seeing this guy look at a map whilst doing 500kts at 20 - 30 feet off the ground, jeez the guy just has to sneeze!! It's a tribute to the training these guys get that let's them fly like that - absolutely awesome!! 8) 8)

The one and only time I got to see a Tomcat was when the USS John F. Having worked in the cinema industry, I have heard rumours about a remake of The Dam Busters for years, and at one point, Mel Gibson was rumoured to have been picked to play the role of "Gibbo" - not the smartest move in casting; but having Peter Jackson's name linked to this - I'm not so ...
