Re: AI BlackHawk
I think I've explained that one before, but here goes.
I can't specify lights in the aircraft.cfg file as normal, because the lights would not travel with the animated lift - they would stay 10ft below the aircraft. The only way to do it in FS9 is to build the default lights directly into the model so they do rise with the lift. Unfortunately, they are far too big and bright, particularly at a distance. Sadly, you can't use custom lights in the same way. My decision was to dispense with the lights, apart from taxi and landing lights in the FS9 models.
The situation in FSX is different. Here you can attach custom lights that are much smaller and that's what I've done for the set of models for that version.

Re: AI BlackHawk
All done.
The Blackhawk Family zips with 17 variations were uploaded to Avsim early this morning and should be available later today. The files are:
FS9:
JYAI_Blackhawk_Family_FS9_1.zip
FSX:
JYAI_Blackhawk_Family_FSX_1.zip
The final versions have a number of changes from the two Beta versions. I've changed the texture mapping on the "A", "L" and "S" models so that more elaborate paint schemes can be applied without difficulty. There were some internal facets in the cockpit glass on all the FS9 models and these have been removed. There was a LOD error in the FS9 "R" Hellfire model and that too has been corrected. Finally, I've also included an AFCAD and traffic file to enable the 3 Fire Hawks at the default Barton Heliport, Los Angeles, for FS9 and FSX.
Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has provided information and feedback in this thread. I really didn't know much about the Black Hawk family when I started and it's been a great to find out more about the aircraft as I've done the modelling. As always, thanks to Mike Mac for the basis of the FDE and to Kevin for the XML triggers. Thanks also to ClickClick for testing the mapping for me and finding the pitfalls.

Over to you now to build on what's now there. I know that two additional packs, at least, are waiting in the wings.
Have fun.
John

Re: AI BlackHawk
Here is a link to the remaining 93 HH-60G Pavehawks with flight plans:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/cdgg6 ... ehawks.zip
It will go up on Avsim eventually, but forum members get first dibs
John isn't tooting his own horn on this nearly enough. This project double from his original intended size and he has made dozens of changes based on feedback in the last few weeks. Honestly, he could have released it as "good enough", but has seriously gone the extra mile to make improvements.

Re: AI BlackHawk
Welp, that's my weekend gone
Probably a good thing my summer holiday is just a week away, as I can easily imagine another project or two for the Blackhawk, and that'll only add to the pile of stuff I've got to finish up at some point

Re: AI BlackHawk
Agree with “click”, the level of detail is on par with 2 payware flyable H-60 models, and in some cases exceeded their models. I would have been content with “good enough for AI”, but this is obviously not John’s style.
