I would like to revive two ideas that we have discussed in the past:
the Thunderjet/Thunderstreak/Thunderflash family
the de Havilland Vampire / Venom

A small one John, well small as I can't do what you do with modeling. The USAF HH-60G Pavehawk has been replaced by the HH-60W, which shares several parts with the released Army MH-60M. I was going to get by with a repaint.

Re: Thoughts on the next project
That could be a quick fix project Chris, if I can work out where the new models are based. I've only spent 10 minutes on this, but Scramble lists 59 active serials, mainly with the 41st RGS at Moody and the 66th RQS at Nellis. However Wikki says the latter was deactivated in June 2023, so I don't know where the aircraft are now. I'll need to spend more time researching once I have Minot AFB done.

Scramble says Aviano recently retired its Pave Hawk helicopters and are now getting the new Jolly Green II's.John Young wrote: 25 Jan 2025, 17:38 That could be a quick fix project Chris, if I can work out where the new models are based. Re: Thoughts on the next project
Any thoughts on doing the CH-3 Jolly Green version of the H-3/S-61 helicopters?

Is that the same suggestion posed by Chris, 4 posts up and the next 3 follow-ups?

John, I think he is asking for the original Jolly, the HH3, rather than the HH-60.

Just remember, most users will want to put the AI in appropriate scenery. That might be a barrier, particularly if retro.

I agree. That's why I'm producing current scenery for UK Blue Light services. Several police bases have closed so they will not be included. Thats why I asked John to do the Dauphin as its used worldwide by many countries.

That rather cements the Dauphin then as it complements an ongoing scenery project.

I did the SAS base for FS9 which I'll update to FSX so the 2 Blue Thunders will have a home

Another squadron has started to receive the Jolly Green II. This time it's the 29th Rescue Squadron (Moffett ANG base).

Re: Thoughts on the next project
I'm not immediately clear how the new HH-60W differs visually from the older Pave Hawks.

Re: Thoughts on the next project
Look at the nose of the helicopter. The HH-60G Pave Hawk has the black radar dome on the side, while the Jolly Green II has it center on the nose. Plus there are some new sensors on the right side of the nose. And it has a different winch. Those are the differences I see. There might be more.
