AI Aircraft Editor Version 4.2.1 released
Re: AI Aircraft Editor Version 4.2.1 released
I will test the beta MCX with the Dromader and let you know what happens.
Should I PM those 2 aircraft to you, or maybe post them here, so others may have a look if interested?

Wringing the Dromader through the beta (v. 1.7) MCX made it work, shows up beautifully in the Model Viewer of AIAE.
I have kept the files for the one that crashed, do you still want those?

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I would still like to have the old conversion that made AIAE stall.
Cheers,
Martin

Martin,
In the AIAE bottom line, when the "AC Status" is red and NOK and you then bring up the "Show Aircraft Errors", would it be possible to have an option to print out the "Show Aircraft Errors"?

Re: AI Aircraft Editor Version 4.2.1 released
Martin, I just had occasion to reinstall Windows 10, with all the resulting work this entails. This also meant reinstalling AIAE, and I noticed that now:
1. AIAE does not seem to create .owl files any more, and
2. When I select "Delete fltsim.x keys" a lot of items have been moved to the "do not delete" section, that I didn't move there.
Is this "behavior as intended" - or?

Hi Jorgen.
You need to check the option "Auto Backup" for the creation of the owl backup files.
And yes, if you do a new installation on a system where AIAE was not installed before, you need to adjust the settings to your liking. What you see on first start is the application default.

Re: AI Aircraft Editor Version 4.2.1 released
Hello Martin,
I don't actually need those .owl files, was just wondering what happened to them...
But, here is a quote from the bottom of page 13 in the manual:
"You can create a whitelist of keys that you always want to keep. You create this list by selecting the keys you want to keep in the left pane, holding down the mouse button and dragging them to the right pane, where you release the mouse button and drop them."
The above has always worked just fine.
But - the problem here is that after the latest install of AIAE, the right-hand pane is full of items that were in the left-hand pane before, and which I would have liked to keep there. And, as far as I can see, there is no way of deleting items from the right-hand pane in the manual, and the things I have tried there to delete items there (right-click for a menu with "delete in it and hitting the delete key) do not work. My basic thinking is that if an item is deleted from the right-hand pane, it should show up in the left-hand pane, at least when AIAE is restarted. What at least I would like here is a way of deleting items in the right-hand pane.
Another thing I have found, mentioned in one of the bullet points in the AIAE feature list: easy removal of non-AI relevant sections. This is where I might be on thin ice, and not know enough about AI aircraft. What I question as maybe not being relevant to an AI aircraft, are for example these sections in the aircraft.cfg file: [autopilot], [electrical], [keyboard response] and [forcefeedback]. Since I don't know a thing about designing aircraft, be it flyable or AI, I might be totally off my rocker here. Any clarification gladly received!
Take care -
Jorgen

Select the items with the mouse and drag them from the right to the left listbox and vice versa, Jorgen

The sections listed in that box are considered safe to be removed for an AI aircraft, Jorgen. If you are unsure, just leave them in. If you agree, then tick and remove them.Jorgen wrote: 28 Oct 2024, 13:25 Another thing I have found, mentioned in one of the bullet points in the AIAE feature list: easy removal of non-AI relevant sections.
