Please read the introduction on the front page and the readme instructions very carefully before you begin installing this one.

This is a very complex package. Thanks to everyone involved!

Thanks everyone!
I read the news on the homepage and all the features included in this new package will definitely be a great addition to Nick's last model!

Since FS9 casts the shadows of AI aircraft located on the deck of an aircraft carrier onto the surface of the sea below and not onto to the aircraft carrier deck, users may want to turn off the "Aircraft cast shadows" feature in FS9 when using this package.

At the time that I created the AFCADs and AI flightplans for carrier operations in this package I had not yet figured out how to force aircraft carrier based AI aircraft to always fly a realistic left hand VFR traffic pattern around the carrier regardless of the angle of the catapult used for launch to that of the angled landing deck. Therefore the VFR traffic patterns around the carrier in this package are not as realistic as I would have preferred and I was forced to use more IFR traffic patterns than normal.

Fortunately I have now found a way to force AI aircraft launching from any catapult on an aircraft carrier to fly left hand VFR traffic patterns and all future packages including flight operations on aircraft carriers will feature this.

Had a good play with this one, couldn't find the buddy tanker at the appropriate times, so fetched it from LFRJ and got a whole lot of refuelling practice. It appears to track well east of the CDG?

For spotting AI, it might be an idea to include a saved flight in the package, with the right weather/time to help the troops find the spottee.

Thanks very much for this package - I've also enjoyed watching the R91 traffic! :D

However I have a question - the Belgian Alpha Jets package and this one both contain a number of files for the Captieux Bombing Range, but they put them in different folders. If I have the Alpha Jets package installed, can I safely delete the files below from Addon Scenery/Scenery ?

MAIW_AF2_CUX1.bgl
MAIW_AF2_CUX2.bgl
MAIW_CUX1_Captieux Range Scenery.bgl
MAIW_CUX1_EXC.bgl

Thanks,
Matthew

As a general rule of thumb always keep the newest versions, unless there are specific instructions to the contrary. In this case feel free if they are dated the same then delete which ever set suits you the best.

This Rafale package doesn't contain Captieux Bombing Range. I think you got the duplicate files with the Greek A-4 package.

Thank you guys for getting this one out.

The French skies are very busy these days with the Mirage F1 package, the Mirage 2000 series, the Military Transports package, the Ray Parker/Stephen Phillips C-135 packages, visiting Belgium Alpha Jets, and now this Rafale Package. Just awesome. Now all we need is a French Alpha jet package to really fill the skies.
