Why does this MAIW model not work in FSX??

#1. Why does this MAIW model not work in FSX??
Because it was designed for FS9.

#2. Is there a way to convert the model for use in FSX?
Yes, but you must have the source files and there is a bit of work involved in making an FS9 designed AI model native to FSX. You can all thank the Aces team for that stroke of genius.

#3. Why is the wingspan of this FS9 model set so small?
See #1

#4. Will MAIW models ever be made for FSX?
Perhaps, one day they will, for now this is not a priority.

To be continued as these questions come up.

Because it was designed for FS9. (yes true but that's not the issue)

#2. Is there a way to convert the model for use in FSX?
Yes, but you must have the source files and there is a bit of work involved in making an FS9 designed AI model native to FSX. You can all thank the Aces team for that stroke of genius. ( just convert the flight plans to FSX issue fixed)

#3. Why is the wingspan of this FS9 model set so small?
See #1 (Wingspan should be the same in FS9 or FSX laziness is why it's set wrong)

#4. Will MAIW models ever be made for FSX?
Perhaps, one day they will, for now this is not a priority. (they work fine if you change the flight plans to FSX format)

To be continued as these questions come up.

A rather strange reply to a three year old post by someone calling himself a flight sim dev.

You misinterpret "working" as "showing up". Yes, FS9 models will generally show up in FSX or P3D as you demonstrate with your screenshot. This does not mean that FS9 models work as intended by the modeler. Framerate may not be ideal, some animations may not work, the aircraft may not behave well in certain phases of flight, the aircraft may not park in an appropriate parking spot etc. That may be good enough for your personal use as it is for many simmers while they wait for something better, but any serious flight sim dev would argue that this doesn't count as "working".
