Missing GUID/Object/BGL

I've created a separate Retro FS9 installation for all the "new" stuff.
I've installed a Gulf War Package of Tornado GR1, Jaguar GR3, Tristar, VC10.

At Shaikh Isa (OBBS) in my usual (modern) installation there are several admin type buildings apparent.
In my retro install these buildings are not there.
Checking on ADE the buildings are all GUID - be0c02ab-4c13-92c9-da80-23bd51c8670b.
Obviously when checking which libraries are used it is unknown.

Is there any way that anyone knows, of working out which bgl this GUID is associated with?

It's not a biggie but I'm just trying to gain some knowledge on how scenery design works at the same time.

Many thanks

Jim

Jim, here what I answer to a PM Brian sent me.
May be can help.

Hi Brian, fortunately the heavy rain that hits Italy was not in my region, here we have no problem at all.
Back to your first question.
If I understand your question, you have to load the library in ADE
Tools>Library Object Manager>Add File (in your case C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\MAIW Pease (KPSM)\scenery\Pease Object Library.BGL)
After that you are able to see the name of the object. Remember to press the SAVE button before exit. To see also the Thumbnail, I have to work on it!!!
Hope this help, otherwise, let me know.

Regards, Giorgio

Although I managed to get that file -Pease Object Library.BGL) into ADE I couldn't open it to search for some needed GUIDs > I believe that Jim encountered the same problem (?) Having fun ,though, with ADE and FSDS creating airport thingies
Also in the MAIW Scenery object file it mentions "For use by MAIW scenery developers only " Are all MAIW members here included in this statement ?
Cheers
Brian

Hi Brian, did you mean that in ADE you still have some little black square? If yes, that means those objects are into another library.

I discovered that my problem was that I had the thumbnail present in ADE. but hadn't added the Hill Object Folder.
It was very much trial and error to find what was missing.

That's exactly the problem I'm facing :? For instance I'm trying to add the house (object 806cd8a0-4200-a143-4c6b-2fa71483fa58) to an airport and I can't find the original file .Also how can one add to your MAIW OBO.bgl library .In this instance I need light pole # 806cd8a0-4200-a143-4c6b-2fa76879fa58 . I'm guessing that the 806cd8a0-4200-a143-4c6b-2faXXXXXfa58
series of objects are SOMEWHERE in an original file or library,I just can't find them and get them little black squares "coloured up"

806cd8a0-4200-a143-4c6b-2fa71483fa58 is in MAIW_ABO.BGL and is number 024
806cd8a0-4200-a143-4c6b-2fa76879fa58 is in MAIW_ABO.BGL and is number 047

the MAIW_ABO.BGL I've got is dated 30/09/2012 and comes with the MAIW 428th FS_RSAF_Desmond Burrell package.

Don't know if this helps

Yes, it would .Now for "Objects for Idiots" question # 2 .How does one find the MAIW_OBO.BGL libraries ? :?

MAIW_ABO.BGL is in

Addon Scenery\MAIW Generic Airbase Objects Library\Scenery folder

That's might be part of the problem .
My MAIW OBO.BGL is in Addon Scenery\MAIW Scenary Objects Library\Scenery folder .
I've tried everything to get these 2 objects to show and am about a "C" hair away from giving up ! .I'll give it one last try by deleting all the MAIW OBO.BGL objects in ADE and then add them back in
(EDIT) a combination of your and Giorgio's suggestions have sorted this out :) . I copied and pasted the MAIW OBO.BGL from my laptop and it "updated " the file on the PC and voila ! there were the little critters .And now for a libation of Single Malt :D
Cheers and thanks for pointing the way
Brian

Not the same thread really, but on the same problem...

Just installed the recent NH-90 packs and the suggested Rimini scenery.

I'm missing some scenery objects with the following GUIDs - any help would be gratefully appreciated.

00057d21-a690-6047-8398-0cdea114c019

If these are in the Rimini scenery, may be they are some custom objects created by the original author. I've provided only a modified AFD.

It sounds like I will be having the same trouble as you Jim, for the same reason.
