Troubles with Sceneries installation

Hello,

I've downloaded some FS2004 sceneries from http://www.sanalpilot.com/forum/.

These sceneries are for Turkey.

Some of thems are just compressed files, so no problem to install them.

Other are EXECUTABLE files. I decompress the RAR contening the executalbe in a temp directory. When I run the executale, nothing happend... I trie with 3 or 4 diffrents scenery from http://www.sanalpilot.com/forum/ and it's the same. I use Win 7 64 bits. Is it the source of the problem because I'm in 64 bits environment ?

Thanks to all of you that can help me.

Regards

First thing that comes to mind: did you try running the executable as administrator?

I'm on Windows 10 x64. Tried that last scenery, unzipped the exe to my desktop, ran as administrator and it launches just fine.

Have you tried unzipping it to another folder (never use any of the "Program Files" folders for this as Windows protects them)? Switched of your virus scanner? Just thinking out loud...

Thanks a lot Greg.

You've right ! It's my AntiVirus Avast who blocked the installation file.

Thanks for the help.

You can now lock this topic (or delete it).

Avec plaisir. ;)

No need to lock or delete this. Others my run into a similar issue.

Unfortunately or perhaps fortunately, depending on how you look at it, both Google Chrome and Avast are getting much more aggressive in blocking the download, installation and/or execution of some files, especially .exe ones. :(

Recently I even had a false positive infection blockage by Avast of an updated Google chrome.exe file. Go figure!
