United Kingdom Emergency Services

Post by Tranquil »

I really wasnt sure if i should post this or not due to some of the material not being Military / Government based and also a low factor of interest it may have due to the model being Payware & FSX only.. The model in question is that of the Just Flight ai pack TrafficX. Eurocopter EC135.

I spent a good few hours making a paintkit for it as the original was not up to scratch!

So far i have around 37 repaints done! including 15 Police from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland & Wales &15 Air Ambulances from England, Scotland & Wales! I would have liked to do every one but Some Police & Air ambulances are using the MD900 & EC145 and there are no ai models available to my knowledge!

Im hoping to venture a little further than the uk and head into Europe once i finish the UK..

Much thanks

They are great Mark, Do you have the police ones doing circuits by using way-points as though they are on a surveillance?

Hello.

I've this add-on for FSX. I'm actually trying to put some of these AI models in FS9. So, I tryed with EC-135.

Model is visible in FS9, but all in grey. I convert the original textures in DXT1 format (instead of DXT3 originaly), but always grey ?

How can I have these textures correctly fonctionnal ?

A couple of in Sim shots of the Irish & Scottish Police Helicopters and the last one from NPAS Exeter utilizing the A2A 3D Light Effects...

The NPAS also has 4 Vulcanair P68's, bases include Elstree, East Midlands airport, Manchester Airport. Not a 100% Correct model! but best there is!

I don't believe you can! the model as far as im aware is an FSX native model and therefore will only look for the DDS texture it requires!

Much thanks

col1948 :) Appreciate your comment, i really wish there was a freeware FS9/FSX model of the EC135 that i could have used, the pack im doing would then have a much wider audience, but its really going to be limited to those who have FSX and TrafficX, as much as i love my ai planes, we in the simming world are still missing out on all the ai helicopters! Thats why i decided to do the pack im doing! its great seeing helicopters flying around!

Much thanks

Yes I have an AI heli package I bought from SimMarket it has EC120B helicopters of various paints flying around.
Its very good, virtical take off and landings too on the desiganted heli pads.
It's
utt-ai-traffic-eurocopter-ec120b-colibri for FS2004 cost just over 9 Euro when I got it.

Here is the simMarket video of the utt-ai-traffic-eurocopter-ec120b-colibri for FS2004:

https://youtu.be/Z6A1n-fCWtQ

It appears to fly much like any helicopters set up to fly with Heli Traffic 2009.

I've find the solution. So, I convert the texture in DXT1 format for use in FS9. I edit the MDL file with a Hexadecimal editor, change the dds into bmp and save the file.
So now, this EC-135 work fine as an AI Helo in my FS9 sky.

I'm now waiting to download your great repaints ;-)

I've converted loads of DDS files into BMPs for using in FS9 and by and large they work fine. This is a cracking set of paints Tranquil. Are they ready to get a release. I'll buy the addon now if so and run up some plans for my own use until your mate sorts better ones out. As I write this the Essex police chopper is over my house spoiling my enjoyment of El Classico! Cheers. Ross

If there was a FS9 version of this model I would probably get it. They are very nice paints, to bad the police version don't have the spotlight and camera stuff like the real ones have.
