Military AI Works

Looking at the latest Google maps images of Cecil Field, there is a lot of military presence back. I figure some of the P-8s can be explained by the Boeing facility there, but the P-3s, C-40s and C-130s lead me to believe there is more to the story. The remarked taxiways and parking locations tell me it's not just an exercise.

Is Cecil being used as a relief training field for Jacksonville?

NAS Jax was having the main runway repaved, so those should be Jax based P-8s/C-130s.

A new updated Cecil Field scenery package would be nice. A nice mix of Military and Civilian on the old base.

I see that in the NOTAMS that 09L is still closed. It was being used for P3 AND P8 parking. I had thought that with the traffic had all gone back to Jacksonville. Does anyone know for certain if there is still Jacksonville traffic at Cecil?

All the units have returned to NAS Jax. Cecil is still used as a practice landing field to relieve the heavy traffic at NAS Jax.

Since I can see four P-3 AEW on the ground at Cecil, I'm going to guess the AEWs are split half and half with Corpus. Anyone know which are where?

When I drove by yesterday there were 4 AEW and 2 LRT on the line. Too far to see BUNOs.
