Two Runways

Post by wbunnell »

In my 20+ years in the Military Air force, every airfield, in it base ops, had a aerial photo graph, showing the Airfield from about 2 or3 thousand feet.
Where can I find a particular air base photo?? Namely U-Taphao Air base Thailand, with two Runways!

Unfortunately, the Google Earth historic imagery only goes back to 2003, showing only one runway.

I'm not sure U-Tapao had a second runway. I'm not sure where they would put it.

During my year November 1972-to 1973, I saw a C-5 takeoff from East side of the Ammo Dump!

Maybe I was dreaming, but I distinctly remember the takeoff!!

Doing Search for U-Taphao 1973, as I was advised, I found picture taken. as a flyover of the U-Taphao ammo Dump shows what looks like, a runway to me.
