We're proud to present the 4th version of our website, bigger, better and faster than ever before. This is one of the steps we're taking to navigate MAIW into the future.

Read more in this briefing.

If you have any issues with the new site, please let me know.

Great.

Faster. More readable.

Just one issue... in the Library. I'm log in. I see the files. I can dowloand all files like on the oldest site, exept the new one (Jordanian Casa repaints... "You don't have permission to download this file"

Thanks Laurent. There's something funny going on indeed with the permissions in the hangar. Give me a minute to fix it.

Just a small problem on mobile (iPad & iPhone)
Clicking on the three line of the Menu in the upper right corner, the screen scrool to the left and the get following message:
Please publish modules in offcanvas position.

Just me?

That's super fast Greg. Now I don't need to go and get a drink after sending a PM. Well done and thanks.

Thank you John. Yes indeed, you should see a significant speed boost for all processes where the server automatically emails someone, like sending a PM. Somehow I never got the PHP mailer to work properly on our previous host. Here it works fine out of the box.

Thanks to everyone who keeps reporting. This is a huge and complicated site with 3 systems all intertwined (site, hangar and forums) and it is impossible for me to test all possible configurations for all access right levels myself.

Some more known issues:
  • The forums give an error when an image is wrapped in img BBCode tags --> fixed
  • The upload page of the hangar looks a bit crooked in the new framework. --> on my to-do list

Greg, the title and short description input fields in the upload page are very small indeed, which makes composing and editing very difficult. There's bags of room to the left, could they be made bigger please?

I like the new website. The only thing I don't really like is I have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page to see the latest new files. The way the old website was laid out I didn't need to scroll at all.

That's weird for me they are at the top as always.

Yes that's the plan. For now, you should be able to make the input fields larger with the handle in the bottom-right corner of the field (looks like a triangle) before you start typing, but that's definitely just a temporary workaround.

I understand. It's why I mentioned the difficult balance between informing new visitors and keeping the site dynamic enough for regular visitors in my briefing. On the previous site, focus was too much on regular visitors with little introduction to what we're actually doing here for newbies.

If it bothers you to scroll down to the footer to see the latest files, it may be easier to just go to the "Files by Newest" page via the menu, where the Latest Files module is located in the sidebar together with the Popular Files module. You could also bookmark that page.
