Hey Greg
Fired up Matrix today and it did a Global update, but when I go to regions the USA install/update tabs are grey and cant click on em.
If I click on NA I get the PDF.

I am on V1.2.1

Did you not get the update to v1.3 option?

Hi Steve

No I don't . It just updated GLOBAL and that's it. Still shows 1.2.1 at bottom.

Hmmm. I just started Matrix , it was 1.2.1, and a panel opened asking me about updating to v1.3.
It sounds like the automatic update option didn't work for you and v1.3 has the NA option button working.

I would try downloading the version and updating over the top of your installation.

Thanks for another great package.

A bug from the B-52H conversion resurfaced. The bombs model with flaps upside down. The fix can be found in this thread: https://militaryaiworks.com/forums/82/17701

I forgot about that model update, as did Martin I guess.

Added to the next milestone for NA.

Hi Greg,

I noticed at Luke AFB, that the radar antennae sits at the bottom of the radar tower, not on top.

Hi, Greg.
When the North America region is updated (which is the only region where I fly), will it be announced here on the forums, or should I plan to load Matrix every day when I plan to fire up P3Dv4 to check if there's been an update?
Thanks in advance

It will be announced in this thread like the other updates.

Hello
I have a more general question:
I mostly fly around in Europe/Asia. If I install another region, like North America for instance, does that mean that any of the NA AI traffic will "spill over" to region Europe/Asia, in other words, does AI traffic ever intersect between regions, or are they strictly separated? I hope I'm making sense... Back while I was still using earlier P3D versions and installed all AI trffic manually, sometomes I had some US Marines Hornets at Lakenheath, or C-5's in the Middle East etc... I know that it depends on the flight plans included, but I have no overview about what traffic these contain exactly, so I was wondering if anybody could enlighten me...

Thank you.

Some aircraft will spill over. The obvious being cargo planes.

If you want a list of what goes where from each package that is just too big of a job for us to manage especially when most people won't be interested. The only way that I can thing of checking such a thing quickly would be to load up each traffic file into AIFP and see which bases are being used. Even this is going to be potentially laborious.

What is your reason for asking? If it is will you see more traffic coming from another region the the answer is yes, but not necessarily every base. Will the amount of extra traffic overload you the answer is no.

One I know for sure is Japan, you can find USMC Unit Deployment Program (UDP) squadrons simulating a deployment in the form of the normally Yuma based F-35Bs or HMLA at Iwakuni and Futenma. USAF fighters going over to Kadena pass through PHNL, another good spotting area. Lots of stuff at Anderson AFB, Guam. Back to the UDP, I copied the VMFA-242 flightplans and exchanged in whatever USMC fighter/attack unit was there, sending them to Australia for ops like Pitch Black, if I see it in a magazine I change the flightplans. The only issue is missing them if I am not flying in that part of the world. With the current USAF European TSP deployments, you can send ANG units over to some cool places.

This of course is outside of Matrix, but you would still need the NA Region models/paints to make this work and knowledge of AI flight planning.

What is your reason for asking?
Yes, more traffic. I've allready seen some B-1s in Europe, so it works :D

Regarding North America, I've been trying to do the update for three days with no luck. Every time I click on update, a window pops up saying "The update cannot be loaded. Please check your internet connection and try again." Oddly, all the other regions updated just fine. Any ideas on how to jump start the update?

Which version of the Matrix do you have installed?

You mean you have North America installed and the "update" button is available? How many updates does it show in the blue badge?

You shouldn't see the update button because no updates are available yet. That's why the update also fails.

Just a heads up, there's still a couple of .bat files left after the recent update.

Also, is it safe to remove the MAIW_PSAI_C-5A folder, now that those traffic files have been deactivated?

Yeah I noticed I missed a few batch files after the update was already out.

You can remove the C-5A folder manually. When designing the package update process I didn't anticipate removing entire folders so it can only handle files right now (issue #15).
