Typhoons over Lossiemouth

Has anyone updated the paints and traffic files for the Typhoons now based out of Lossiemouth

According to the RAF website
1, II and 6 Squadron are fighter squadrons and IX is a bomber squadron, all flying Typhoons.

I have moved 1 and 6 squadron over from Leuchars and with a bit of text editing got the old Leuchars traffic file adjusted to base the aircraft from Lossiemouth but haven't found any thing for II and IX squadron.

Is my search-fu just not working properly?

thanks
Gavin

There aren't any repaints yet for IX squadron Typhoons

Randy

The Typhoon fleet does need an overhaul as 12 sqn now exists at CGY as well, also trains the Qatari personnel.

Although IX(B) is historically "designated" as a bomber squadron, I believe that as (at the moment) they only have Tranche 1 jets they are going to be the RAF's "Aggressor" squadron.

Jim

I'll see if I can get some info on airframes from my "inside" source

I also read that - that they were going to be flying F2s.
The initial reports said that they and 12 sqn would be flying aircraft originally slated to be retired - i.e. tranche 1 aircraft.

However, even the RAFs own website lists 9 Sqn as having FGR4s and I have seen at least four serials allocated to 9 Sqn and they are all FGR4s.

12 Sqn doesn't officially form til May but as they are training Qatari crews you have to think that they will be flying the FGR4 as well.

The RAF website also states that 120Sqn is based at Lossiemouth flying P-8A, so I would take what's said on it with quite a large pinch of salt.

My mate in an eng on 9sqn and they are all trache 1 at the moment.

My understanding is that 120 Sqn will be at Lossiemouth once the hangers for them have been completed. They are temporarily flying out of a nearby airfield.

Thanks Randy - I figured it was my search-fu that was defective.

If by nearby you mean Jacksonville in Florida.

120Sqn have no aircraft as yet with the first being delivered later this year - it will be flying from Kinloss as a Bolthole while Lossiemouth has their runways updated.

Gavin, i will update the textures for you, obviously they will also need to be removed from the flight plans Randy updated if you have those installed now!

Is it just those 5 that will be used by 12 Squadron?

Much thanks

Mark, As I understand it both 9 and 12 will be full Sqns so it seems that like your Valley update there is a bit of a waiting game to see the full allocation.

Thanks Mark, very nice looking.

Even a few birds in 9 Sqn will add variety to the base.
