The HC2 model shows up sunken into the ground. The belly sits on the floor and you can't see the wheels. The HC3 model is perfect however! Not tested the CH47D models.
I tried copying the contact points in aircraft.cfg from the HC3 and it made no difference.

I should add that was in P3DV4

Yes, I have the same. Also the rotors don't turn. The one RAF CH47D model I've tried was invisible (ZD576). P3Dv4.4.

And... sorted by a quick play with the original FS9 models and the latest MCX.

Is it easy to sort out?

Fixed HC2 P3D model

Hi Folks,
Sorry about this, not sure how the corrupt HC2 model got thru our rigid quality control. I guess I will be dragged off to the dungeon for another spell on bread and water.

The fixed model is attached here until Greg and Martin find the time to fix the uploaded packages and Matrix.

Hi Folks,
Seems the HC2 with winch model had the same issue.

The fixed model is attached here until Greg and Martin find the time to fix the uploaded packages and Matrix.

What model is ZD576 calling? I don't see that serial number in the UK Chinooks

Ah, I’ll have a look in the morning, Gavin. It’s quite possible it’s from an earlier package.

Well, this is a bit bizarre. ZD576 doesn't exist on my system. Indeed, it's the 7 Sqn HC2 that crashed on the Mull of Kintyre in 1994, so it's kind of unlikely it's ever been included in any MAIW package. I can't find a traffic file that calls it - though I have hundreds, so that could be a long search! I can only think that I've mistyped a registration into a traffic file when allocating an aircraft. However, the aircraft (whatever its real reg) associated with that file must exist otherwise it wouldn't appear in the traffic list in the sim, and there is an issue with that model's textures.

I don't think, however, that this is a problem with this package, so I'll leave the topic there. If it comes up again, I'll do a bit more investigation within the sim to see what's going on!

Yes, but you don't need to any more as the replacement models have been provided above!

Just as long as you're permitted to take the PC with to the dungeon so you can continue the great work. Thanks Gavin

To return to the CH47D, it's invisible whichever paint is called. Was the 47D in the update package, or is that an older model?

Which CH47D model is being called for? I converted 11 different D models. (Plus 9 A models and 8 Longbows - but who's counting :D )

thanks
Gavin

Hi Gavin. I was playing around with making traffic for southern Germany, and used a couple of US Army paints from your updated package (if you want to know the specific paints, I’ll fire up the computer later and let you know). Although the traffic registers and can be seen on radar and in the traffic list, if you try to observe it there’s nothing there! This is in P3Dv4.5.

If I recall correctly, this is a problem I’ve had before when I did my own updates to the CH47 to get it to work in P3D, and again it was only the CH-47D. I do have a barebones installation of FSXSE, so I can check if it appears ok in that.

I can confirm that the FSX version is fine in FSX:SE using my traffic file and and FSX version of the airfields I was playing with (ETOR and ETIE).

Tim,I think to narrow this one down we are going to need the specific serials which will mean that we can get the specific models.

On this occasion, Steve, it's US Army 3-238th 87-00093 and 91-00266. I'm going to try a traffic file that uses all of the CH-47Ds (and a couple of others) to see if it's common to all of them. However, that will have to wait till today's TdF coverage is finished!
