New DHC-8 for Sécurité Civile
On 28 October 2020, DHC-8-402Q(MR) C-GPOX (construction number 4623) was seen at Toronto/Downsview in overall green colours. A month later, on 27 and 28 November 2020, the Q400 performed local test flights painted in Sécurité Civile (France) colours with code 78 on its tail.
The DHC-8 will be ferried to Conair at Abbotsford (B.C.), where it will be converted for firefighting purposes as well as for cargo, passenger transportation, and MedeVac. According to Jeff Berry, Director Business Development/CONAIR Group, the total conversion time will take 8-10 months.
It is expected that the Q400-MR will be delivered to France in Q4 2021.
