JYAI A-6 Intruders

I have the Intruders all done for FS9 and FSX/P3D.

There are a set of 5 models for the earlier grey and white USN paint scheme and another set for the later two tone grey scheme, that features the TRAM ball under the nose. Both sets include a land-based wing fold option. There are also 2 carrier models for each of the two periods.

Trying to find the right paint scheme from undated photographs of US Navy Intruders, with the right serials, for the right carrier at the right time was really time consuming, but I think I have most of the selection right. Unfortunately, I just couldn't get a clear understanding of any of the US Marine Corps units.

There are 4 US Navy units in each package:

VA-196 (includes the two aircraft from the film "Flight of the Intruder"):

CARRIER OPS:

Users can transfer textures and aircraft.cfg entries from the land-based folder to the carrier one, as they wish. These are just my test sample:

I'll get the documentation and packaging done next ready for upload.

Stunning, the incredibly fast pace at which you produce these models & paints still amazes me.

Sweet!!! Out of curiosity do any of these have the fuselage airbrakes modeled?

Most of the airframe and animation was already done with the Prowler. The Intruder needed a new nose and cockpit, fin and a few other bits and pieces like the load-outs. Most of the work was in researching the right photographs and painting.

No, the fuselage airbrakes are not modelled. Even if a workable xml trigger could be devised, users are not likely to see them in operation unless they are following the aircraft. Not a good investment in time and effort really.

Impressive, yet again this Navy jet fan is happy! As I work my P3Dv5.3 install checked out the carrier south of Eglin AFB, FL and watched a Prowler come in.

I sent the Intruders for inclusion in the Download Hangar this morning. One package for FS9 and the other for FSX/P3D. Both packages are aircraft and textures only. No scenery or flight plans are included.

Once again John, you have outdone yourself, brings me home to my old CVW-2 seeing VA-145 and VA-155 again. Will love seeing the Swordsman and the Silver Foxes flying again :)
